    I've been doing exactly this for my whole life, two servers currently running, and I've never had an issue.

    I miss being able to put a lightly authenticated game server up and not worry too much at night – wondering if that process is now mining bitcoin. I miss being able to run a server in my home closet.

    My group tried Matrix/Riot(Element) in like 2017 and it was rough. I assume it might be better now. We consistently didn't get notifications on mobile which was a deal breaker for a communications...

We consistently didn't get notifications on mobile which was a deal breaker for a communications app. And the self-hosting of it was not good and we couldn't get it to work at the time. Again I assume that is hopefully better. For sure may be something to look into.

    Yeah I always hear people talking shit on Teams and it works great for my small 4 man team. We don't touch the Teams side and have 3 group chats. One general yapping group chat (with some other members in it), one for the main software product we maintain, and a third for video game related yapping. It works great. Voice calls / screen shares seem to always work. Much better than skype used to.

    Not thrilled if they do, but I suppose it is inevitable. Hopefully they're slow with the enshittification because teamspeak v5/v6 doesn't have server files yet because its super beta.

    I hate how comfortable discord is too, it provides an unrivaled experience. I sit every day in vc with friends just streaming whatever I'm playing, or sometimes watch podcasts with my brother. It's going to be a great loss if/when it really does kill itself. So many communities use it for everything. I've been paying for nitro for some time to hope I could help scare this end off, but it's got way too many users for me to even make a dent.

    I got force upgraded when the 4G thing happened a year or more back. My Oneplus 3T had 4G but apparently didn't make the cut for ATT >_> But I do like my Pixel 4a because it was smaller.

    The demo was a great indicator of the games true intention. It's 100% a resource management game with a skin of a trucking game. Very cute for that, but won't ever be a space long haul shipping...

Very cute for that, but won't ever be a space long haul shipping sim, that's not their goal. I'm having fun though because I knew that's what it was coming into it. From my 10.5 hours so far I found it slightly annoying how low the hauling job payouts are. I made more money coming across some junk floating in space and trading station to station.

    They claim to be addressing key binds first thing now that it has released. They didn't have an fov slider in the demo and got that in for release, so I believe they'll get key binds.

    I am scared that they probably won't add lateral movement. It's severely lacking strafing in the 4 udlr directions. What's worse is that the driver assist that you can enable and disable clearly has lateral movement capabilities. I fear that they won't add it because they're crippling their game for consoles :/

    Never played all too much of shapez 1 unfortunately. Played some when it came out but didn't get too far. I don't think anything is all too complicated. The only time it feels like it gets...

The only time it feels like it gets complicated is when I try to put too much stuff on one platform and I try to optimize, but there's no harm in just using more platforms and spreading stuff out so you can see.
