I just had the first Kvikk Lunjs of my life this week, during a hike in Norway. I expected it to be just a KitKat. It is a little bit better than a KitKat, but I do think the reason these vikings love it so much is more nostalgia than the actual product (on a hike you might as well eat banana).

I looked into the history of Freia, the company that makes Kvikk Lunjs, and it seems it was acquired by Monedez in 1993. Can any Norwegian tilderono that has tried pre 1993 Kvikk Lunjs confirm if that changed the quality?
The article mentioned an early dark chocolate version of it, and I kinda wanna try it...

Thanks for the detailed answer :> I think I see some holes in this method, but I'm bad at talking about cryptography and authentication so I'm gonna go with an example:

Imagine Alice wants to visit GenericAdultWebsite.com and she has paid TrustedVerifier for a certificate. She proved she's older than 18 to TrustedVerifier. She also wants to apply to GenericInsuranceOnline.com.
Both sites require her to provide proof she's over 18 years old.

    • How does she avoid using info that exposes her identity across both websites? Does she have to trust the sites not to keep the public key?
    • Would she ask the verifier for two distinct keys that the sites can use? Does she pay per key?

The way I understand it now, either the certificates lose credibility because Alice could generate as many keys as she wants (and let other people use them), or she has to trust the sites not to keep verification info that can identify her somehow: meaning she has to keep paying for every proof.

    • If I sign with my private key, wouldn't that expose my identity (beyond just my age)?
    • If I don't expose my identity, am I able to sign in with a different certificate (that isn't strictly "mine")?

I recently came across the following interview question and I kind of liked it because it would allow any kind of software developer to show some knowledge:
"When I type something into the address bar and press the enter key, what happens? Be as pedantic as possible."
Some answers could go on about concepts like HTTP, SSL certificates, DNS, NAT, browser APIs, and other answers would be way more low level like "well, a keyboard interrupt happens, and the CPU...".

I tried some napkin math and I definitely agree on making h1 & h2 start out from the center of the circle.

I find it very hard to understand what h1 h2 & theta are in relation to the pyramid faces and sunlight direction (or shape or shadow?), but in the case of the diagrams, "find how much of the circle surface area is green" in terms of h1 & h2 and theta looks fun:

    • assuming theta between 0° and 90°,
    • and h1 and h2 always between 0 and the diameter.

Do you have a way to distinguish the 3 cases?

    EDIT:
There is a funny 4th case where everything is obscured: https://i.imgur.com/TNhcHii.png
I played around with it in desmos, but I couldn't find a single function to do every case, not even close. Here's a desmos link of you wanna try: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/yzmozwkqvm

In the larger scheme of things, I think it's good that Facebook was held responsible, I hope it leads to AdTech vampires being more careful with what data they use for advertising.

In this particular case though, I can't find where or how the data was actually used, when it was shared to third parties, how it was tied to users, or who profited from it. If anyone has more info please add it. From what I'm reading, I think the Flo app itself is mainly to blame for sharing sensitive data without consent.

Shit like this is why free open source software should be the default.

Fucking thank you! As someone that has had to write systemd services, I find it absolutely bonkers that this development hostile monstrosity has been accepted as the default on so many mainstream distributions. When I write a systemd service, everything I think should work is actually broken or extremely fragile, and every awkward workaround is actually the "ok good enough I guess" accepted way of doing things, even by official applications (seriously, look at some of the default debian services). It has so many footguns and edge cases and useless convoluted config bloat bullshit and historical crufty extras for who even knows what reason anymore aaaaaaaaaaaAAARGHH KILL. IT. WITH. FIREEE

I can see how the idea of something "standard" is attractive to some maintainers, but every interaction with systemd beyond "copy paste config from troubleshooting wiki and pray" confirms my suspicions that those distro maintainers have something akin to stockholm(d) syndrome(d).

I run voidlinux on my machines, which uses runit for init, and it is such a breath of fresh air due to its simplicity. Before switching, I was on debian. When I first had a look at voidlinux, I thought "oh but what if I need systemd functionality for something? I mean so packages depend on it, that must be for a reason...". I switched anyways, I've been running it for about 4 years now, doing all sorts of weird stuff, and not a single time has that situation happened.

I think it's understandable that a "default" init happened, but that default being a very opinionated systemd sucks in my opinion. I've noticed that for a normal user it would be completely fine to ditch it in favour of something simpler. And if an end user needs to interact with system services, simpler is better.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blur_(video_game)

It's from 2010, so not exactly modern, but in my opinion the graphics still hold up, with all its colours and flashy effects. It has combat with mario kart style power ups, and gamepad support. One of my favourite racing games of all time.

Sadly Activision abandoned it, so it's not on steam anymore, but there's still enough people racing on amax-emu, made by the community.
