Lifting of the veil to reveal the horror that awaits us a bit.
Maybe that's a bit too dark, but it feels as if there isn't much to be done besides hunker down and harden with friends and build strong community.

Comment on Blizzard sues to take down another private World of Warcraft server, Project Ascension in ~games

I have not official since 2013 BESIDES two short juants with Classic Re-release (2019) and SoD.
Considering blizzardsofts major fuckups (lol the fratboy stuff), their inability to actually make an interesting game nowadays, and their inability to control their bots. I don't think anything will make me come back short of dozens of friends pressuring me with some serious evidence they somehow magically changed.
Blizzard customer service is such a massive joke. They have no real GMs, I remember in classic Re-release reporting a BLATANT bot for weeks straight, only to give up because blizzard refused to take action.
I just don't think the company cares anymore, and I wish more people would tell them to pound sand and join private servers honestly.
It is surprising how much Turtle WoW absolutely devoured Blizzard's lunch when it comes to quality and care of the IP.

My son and I printed totoro figurines as he really enjoyed the "My Neighbor Totoro". It is one of my favorite movies as well. We still need to paint them, however. Also, there are BRIO compatible train tracks that have gotten a ton of use! They are great for building flexible toy train tracks that you can't find elsewhere.
For me:
I've 3d printed some gears in order to attempt to retrofit my old dobsonian with onstep.I know I could just buy a computerized telescope, but the idea of breathing new life into an old manual dobsonian seemed more fun.
I also have some wall mounted holders for some handheld vacuums in my kitchen that have come in handy, but the wife thinks they're ugly!

I am not a qualified financial specialist, but traditional wisdom is (again as mentioned) the 4% rule.
However, this is assuming (as I understand it), that you are retired already.
If you expect this to grow, you may need to keep a large portion of it in actual higher risk stocks to have it grow, but enough of it in low risk to receive "guaranteed, safe payout".
All-in-all, I'd honestly consult a specialist because there is so much nuance to how you go about this that relies on an incredible amount of detail. A specialist can navigate that, and work with you to set everything up in a way that can meet your lifestyle and needs.

I know very little about Linus, but is he problematic?
I've had other people bother me on YouTube, like when MKBHD did 90 mph in a school zone on video and never released any statement owning up to that colossal fuck up.

I have never heard of that memory form factor before. Does anyone here have experience with LPCAMM2? Can I expect this to be a widely adopted standard?
I'm surprised to see micron is the manufacturer of this. Didn't they say they were trying to get out of the consumer memory space? How will this affect memory pricing with the AI boom going on?

I think people need to stop trying to recreate classic wow verbatim by copying blizzard code.
It is never going to be a recipe for success, with how aggressive blizzard is with defending their IP and then doing nothing at all with it.Instead I would hope to see that The talented developers from Turtle WoW use their skill base to just create a brand new game. It's hard, but I think they could accomplish it.

I cannot tell you how many times I talk to loved ones about this. I'm the "guy angrily shouting at cloud" whenever tech topics get brought up and I'm inevitably dragged in for my experience with family.
I always bring it back to how none of this has to be this way. And we (as a society) have collectively decided to check out for some reason and just allow everything to decay into mediocrity and user-hostile design.
Like, why does my laundry machine need to connect to the cloud? (Oh obviously for planned obsolescence and for mining my network data). But if you understand how a "smart device" like this works, you don't need it to be over the Internet to operate internally. You can have a phone app that communicates locally over the network to run a "smart device".
It's just like, it's maddening watching greed drive every decision.

Some that could have gone further had I tried a little harder I think. And only recently had I found a new role (a few months ago).
It's a rough market, and I've got about 12 years of professional Software Engineering experience. It is very strange indeed. Let me know if you need coaching or resume review (if you're in the same area of tech as me).
I'm happy to help how I can.

God. I'm not OP but am an American. Anytime I talk to Canadian friends and guild mates about birth costs and other shit I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. It's so fucking insane.
Your comment made me laugh, however.
