I started playing Vault of the Void this week. It's an amazing roguelite deckbuilder that takes the usual formula and removes most of the RNG that is so usual to it. You can add and remove card whenever you want betwen fights, the game shows you what the event rewards are so you can plan a route to make a build and overall it's very polished. Highly recommend it to any fans of the genre.

Check out Plunge (PC only afaik, sadly), it's in the same genre of puzzle roguelike.

Started and finished Zeroranger this year and it has became one of my favorite games ever. It's a mix of buddhist themes with tons of shmup/anime references packed into some amazing gameplay, soundtrack and old-school graphics. It's a hard game to sell but trust me when I say it's a legit 10/10.

It's also a great shmup beginner game if you haven't ventured into the genre before.

I've been working on finishing a lot of old games I used to play as a kid. This includes the first Sonic games, the Crash trilogy and Wario Land games.

All I can say is, Sonic 2 didn't age so well, but 3 is a riot. Crash is still lots of fun. And that the Wario Land games must be some of the most creative games Nintendo ever did, they are overflowing with fun ideas and stuff that makes you go "how'd they think of that?"

Been playing Amid Evil, a so called "boomer shooter". It's great, gameplay has fluid movement, the weapons are fun to use and more importantly, it has amazing atmosphere. Each episode executes its theme perfectly and some of the environments left me in awe.

In the same wave, I also played Quake for the first time in the form of the recently released remaster and I can see why it's a classic. It aged really well.

The main reason I don't use Vivald is that it just feels slower than Chrome/Firefox. There's no way around it.

If you can handle the low quality CGI look, Tesagure! Bukatsumono and its sequels is great. Very meta, self-aware and funny. Check out this opening (enable subtitles) so you can get the idea:...
