Monster Hunter World is on all time low on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/582010/Monster_Hunter_World/
Edit: Monster Hunter Rise here: (Not all time low but close)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1446780/MONSTER_HUNTER_RISE/
Two of my favorite games ever so I'm biased, AMA about it if you have any questions! I don't suggest buying the expansions unless you're sure you like the main loop.
Replying to myself lol
I misremembered, Monster Hunter Rise is near all time low here instead:
https://www.indiegala.com/store/game/monster-hunter-rise/1446780
I played Monster Hunter a while back on Playstation. I forget why I stopped. I think because it got grindy? Or maybe because I moved to PC gaming. I remember liking the game, though.
It is insanely grindy. And inventory management is a chore. I don't really understand what people like about this series.
I said it in the other comment but the grind is very different than the grind in an MMO per se. You still require a lot of skill to actually finish hunts and you only get better the more you hunt. Inventory management is a one time thing that I've maybe spent an hour on in my 200+ hours of each game, it's really a non-issue once you find a good loadout.
The game is definitely a grind. That's kinda the fun of it though, I personally enjoy the grind more than MMO's and stuff because you still feel like you're getting better at the game while you do the actual grind. Learning how to fight the monsters and be more efficient is really fun. Plus there are a bunch of different weapons to learn and get good at, and most of them play very differently from each other.
I love World because it feels like an actual ecosystem and it's incredibly immersive.
Epic Games has their winter sale ongoing, with a 33% off all purchases coupon. This combines to create some all-time-low prices for lots of 2023 releases.
Of note:
Dead Space Remake for $16. A horror remake that subverts and builds upon its predecessor in some really interesting ways.
Ghostrunner 2 for $20. A very fun, fast paced action game that will have you replaying levels over and over to get the perfect run.
Jedi Survivor for $24. It released in an unacceptable technical state, but the game itself is a great Star Wars story with really fun combat and great movement.
Alan Wake 2 for $27. Less than two months old, this price is a tremendous steal for my personal GOTY, one of the most narratively interesting and ambitious games I've ever played
Returnal for $27. Incredibly fun and responsive gameplay that borrows from a dozen genres while being its own thing; a cryptic, nonlinear story that had me thinking about it for ages.
Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (normally $60 USD) is free on Epic today too, which includes The Witch Queen, Beyond Light, and Shadowkeep expansions.
You just have to "Get" Destiny 2 for free first to "Get" the Legacy Collection for free afterwards. You don't need to actually install either of them to do that and get them in your library though.
Just an addition to Alan Wake 2, it comes with Alan Wake 1 Remastered if you pick it up before Jan 10th!
+1 for Returnal recommendation, one of my favorite games in the last couple of years.
Curious if anyone has played Witchfire, it's on sale for 24$ and it looks good but not sure if it's worth it yet, since Early Access
Just want to add a +1 for Jedi: Survivor. I waited about a month after release to pick it up and I didn't have any technical issues on PC through about 25-30 hours of playtime. (It actually played better than Fallen Order did on release for me.) Great story, fun game, harder than the first in my opinion!
Steam has a bundle of Story Rich games:
https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/35166/StoryRich_Megabundle__presented_by_LudoNarraCon/
I enjoyed Card Shark a lot, it actually teaches you the techniques of card sharks and stuff like that. Before Your Eyes is a really unique game that uses your eyes and blinking to advance the story. Wychwood comes recommended by others in this site, I personally haven't touched it yet though. King of the Castle I really want to like, but I don't have enough people to get in a group to get a game going sadly.
Card Shark was good but some of the controls were extremely frustrating
Steam's Maui Strong Sale:
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/komodo-hawaii-maui-strong
Note that per the bottom of the page:
Notably:
Monster Hunter: World (Posted above already)
Resident Evil 2, 3, 5, 7
Danganronpa V3 (First two on sale too)
Devil May Cry 5
Bug Fables
Ape Out
Looks like we're getting daily games on Epic again! I'm gonna reply to this comment with the date, link, and game for all of these but I'll be away on vacation next week so I won't get to all of them! Hoping someone picks it up afterwards :)
December 21st is Melvor Idle:
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/melvor-idle-b6a9b3
Melvor Idle is pretty good as far as idle games go. It's basically oldschool Runescape in idle game form. I have 1000+ hours in it. :P
note for this:
https://news.melvoridle.com/melvor-idle-is-free-for-24-hours-only-on-the-epic-games-store/
December 20th is DNF Duel:
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/dnf-duel-07d055
December 22nd is Art of Rally:
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/art-of-rally
December 22nd is Fallout 3: GOTY Edition:
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/fallout-3-game-of-the-year-edition
note: This is one of my favorite games of all time! Yes even more than New Vegas and Skyrim. If you haven't played it, play it!
Humble Bundle has a GoG bundle for the first time(?) (citation needed):
https://www.humblebundle.com/games/happy-holidays-with-gog-rpgs
Notes: there's a 4 item bundle and a 7 item bundle. Also note that these are GoG games, so they're DRM free but not steam keys.
@Pistos made a comment on the previous save points thread on Kingdom Come.
I've heard pretty good things about Vampyr, and Wasteland 3 is the old classic Fallout style games. Overall looks like the $8 tier at least is worth
Humble's Multiplayer Mayhem Encore Bundle:
https://www.humblebundle.com/games/laugh-til-you-die-multiplayer-mayhem-holiday-encore
Plate up is one of my favorite games to play with my family, and Ultimate Chicken Horse is hilarious too. Would recommend for just both of those, but the other games aren't terrible either!
Ultimate Chicken Horse is a favorite of our multiplayer nights. Describing it as multiplayer-Mario Maker doesn’t capture just how fun and ridiculous it can get. Each stage becomes its own story as paths get constructed then trapped and routed around repeatedly. This one generates lots of laughter and yelling at the screen. People ask for it by name when they come over: “Are we going to play Ultimate Chicken Horse tonight?”
PlateUp was what I wanted Overcooked to be. Overcooked leaned too far on the “zany antics” aspect of things, with shifting stages and whatnot. PlateUp is just simple straightforward multiplayer optimization. My husband and I have gotten a lot of hours out of it together.
Rounds is an excellent 1v1 game where whoever loses gets a powerup, which makes for a nice natural balance.
Stick Fight is also good mindless fun.
I haven’t played Heavenly Bodies or KeyWe, but the bundle is easily worth it for all those others alone.
Steam has a bundle of Idle Games that might be pretty good for some people here, I think I remember some people interested in idle games:
https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/34557/Idle_Game_Variety_Bundle/
The only one I've played is Cookie Clicker, which I loved and is a classic lol
Edit: I just took a look at the other games and..... the other two aren't actually idle games? Unless I'm missing something
What is THE LONGING? Never heard of it but it seems to have quite a following?
I haven't played it myself, but it's a game where you wait 400 real-time days for your master to awaken. You can play every day and explore the place slowly, or you can just open it on Day 400 to see the ending.
Greenmangaming has some great deals on Square Enix games if you're logged in (I believe bronze rank is enough to get the discounts, please correct me if that doesn't work for you)
That link 404ed for me while signed in and out! Not sure what's going on there but I think steam has their own sale on Squeenix Games too
Whoops, sorry. Fixed it.
Mentioning this again because it's a long ongoing sale:
GoG is having their winter sale! Check it out for DRM free stuff.
https://www.gog.com/en/promo/2023_winter_sale
Notably:
Divinity Original Sin: Definitive edition is on an all time low, check it out if you want a (slightly older) version of Baldur's Gate 3 kinda. (There's a lot of differences I just don't know them lol)
Inscryption is at all time low too. Play it. Play itttttt.
Adding to this:

GoG is doing a giveaway on the game Lost Ruins
Mass Effect Legendary Edition [Steam Key] on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B094BX4J4L
On Steam itself: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1328670/Mass_Effect_Legendary_Edition/
Not a sale: anyone ever gotten a “Keys are temporarily exhausted for this product” message on a Humble Bundle game before? … how long do you think it’s reasonable to wait before emailing them?
I have actually! I think it takes a couple of hours, but they'll email you about the key. I think if a day or two goes by and nothing, you probably can email them.
Usually they post when keys are expired or restocked on their support Twitter account. Nothing recently though, unless you're trying to redeem from an old bundle/purchase.
It can unfortunately take a couple of days in some circumstances. You can always email them anyway. They might be able to give you an expected timeline.
Risk of Rain Returns on GMG for $10.57:
https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/risk-of-rain-returns-pc/
I've been running this game recently, finally just got my first win in normal difficulty after about 16 hours.
Steam Winter Sale is up!
https://store.steampowered.com/
Probably not gonna make a separate post this time around, Autumn seemed so recent and there wasn't too much traction on the other thread anyways!
Baldur's Gate 3 - 10% off @ $54

A great bundle tbh.
I Expect You To Die is a really fun puzzler esp for 7.5$.
Trover Saves the Universe if you're into the R&M style humor
Until You Fall is a really fun roguelike that gets very intense.
I haven't played Zero Caliber but I have a friend who was super into it, seems pretty good.
