I couldn't care less if the fat cat landlords finally lose. And don't let your heart break for them, they won't be bankrupt out on the streets, they will still be plenty well off. Let them spend some chunk change converting their now useless big office buildings into housing or selling the land. The world has evolved and their cash cows needs to change along with it if they want to keep lining their pockets.

Yeah I didn't end up going, but it was very tempting to go see Barbie or Oppenheimer. Will wait for streaming, since that's what I'm already paying for.

Hard to draw any conclusions. There's so much we still don't know about the human body, and each body is unique. I think there's a climate change angle to it as well. Our biodomes are changing a lot. Personally, I never had any allergies as a kid, but developed bad hay fever summer allergies to grasses, weeds, dust mites only starting in my mid 20s. Luckily allergy shots (immunotherapy) has reduced my symptoms a TON, though it is a long term treatment and not a total cure. it does seem like there are more and more kids with allergies, including food allergies.

I heard about it, saw a little press. Checked it out. Maybe I'm missing something, but I concluded just another Android phone with some LEDs embedded on the back. That's about it.

Definitely watched my share of Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure as a kid. Never really followed him past that, I know he did something questionable later on, but good memories for me of his work overall. RIP.

I tried the Light Phone II for a little but but it wasn't practical for my lifestyle and work. I think it would be more of a switch-to thing. For instance if I'm on vacation or weekend and literally want to be off the grid for a set amount of time - only available for emergency phone calls, I'd pop my SIM into the Light Phone.

Yeah I've never had a reason to even try Peacock. I'm entering phase where I will cancel most of my streaming services, go back to renting movies. And when there's enough content I want to see on the streamers - that is fully released, not 1x a week, I will subscribe and watch and then cancel.

Eh I find this kind of strange and not the best use of time for most. Yeah first dates now can be stupid nothings like grabbing a coffee, drink, meal, going for a walk, etc. but they are great in the sense that they don't require too much time or money investment on someone you don't know (for both parties). I have dated a lot in today's rather awful landscape, I can usually tell within 10-20 minutes if I want to see this person again. The author would have found out they were incompatible sooner or later, whether they did this bizarre 'co-working' session as a first date or not. Maybe sooner if they hadn't been sitting there in silence staring at their laptops.

Surefire way to force businesses and media to cut the cord. Think of how many places the Twitter logo/name/branding is embedded around the web, TV, and in print. Hell if I would bother updating it on my properties when it's been in jeopardy as a viable platform and a sinking ship since Musk took over. The guy is unhinged, maybe he'll feel like changing it again in another few weeks. Cut the cord now if you know what's best.

As a 'mall kid' growing up in the '90s and 2000s, summer at the movies was a staple. Some of my most cherished memories. I have not been to the theaters for at least 4-5 years now, even before the pandemic I went less and less. I am fussier than the average person and found going to the movies a painful experience more times than not. Add to that the costs of all these streaming platforms I am already paying for (Netflix, Max, Prime, Apple TV+, YouTube TV, etc.) don't make me feel like spending more on one movie ticket.

That being said, this weekend tempted me more than ever in the past 10ish years to go. I don't remember a stronger summer blockbuster lineup in years. Barbie, Oppenheimer, Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones... there's a lot to choose and a lot of hype! I'm still on the fence if I dip my toe back into going to the theater and maybe cancelling some of these streaming services which the content is getting worse and worse anyway.
