I previously mentioned that I felt web dev/design should be separated from design and was duly told no - so I'm not sure I understand why anime, comics, cartoons, manga etc. do not fall under ~arts, even as ~arts.manga etc.

yobuko I'm surprised no one has mentioned Kanban yet. I use it for project boards and reading lists. I'm sure there must be far more creative uses though.I'm surprised no one has mentioned Kanban yet. I use it for project boards and reading lists. Comment on Why former Salesforce engineers want to take on Google in ~tech
yobuko Archived: https://archive.is/VHhNlSocher and McCann created You.com, a privacy-focused search engine that’s completely customizable. Marc Benioff, who backs the company and also gave the duo its domain name, called You.com "the future of search." Since launching in public beta in November 2021, Socher said it’s amassed “several hundreds of thousands” of searches and a 50% retention rate of its user base.
We really think that the world needs a better search engine. We kind of have a situation where the entire economy is moving online, and to have a single gatekeeper that wants to sell you to the highest bidding advertiser, and that can't be the right setup.

As a new user (hi!), I'm confused as to where webdev discussions + links should go; is it ~comp or ~design? It spans both in many regards, and in other communities often gets people's backs up if you post in the wrong one.
So I feel there needs to be a little more separation.

What do you use your VPS for?
I have a couple of VPS. My current itch is looking at ideal ways to do blue-green deployment using low-end VPS. Digital Ocean offer the simplest solution, but are not low-cost. The biggest benefit of Digital Ocean is their floating IP (reserved IP).
Essentially you need two static internal IPs (blue + green) and one static external IP, and an API to switch the external to point to either blue or green.
I'm not sure about that; I suspect it's simply to do with the supply chain - in particular I would guess it is to do with the custom Nvidia chip being touted.
That said, there has been a lot of talk about how people have large catalogs of physical Switch 1 games and there might be backlash if Switch 2 is not backwards compatible with Switch 1 carts. If Nintendo wanted to dominate, they'd do two things: a) make Switch 2 backward compatible with Switch 1 carts, and b) make it as easy as Steam to publish indie games to an e-store for Switch 2.
As it stands, to publish an indie game on Switch, you either a) have to have a well known publisher backing you, or b) have your game published on another platform (PC etc.) with demonstrable download figures. A dedicated indie dev e-store would put the wind up the Steam Deck.
