They finally added the Japanese sub version of Cardcaptor Sakura... Horray... The English dub is still geoblocked because Europe can get fucked!
Fairy Tail episodes 1 to 175 are still geo-blocked, meaning that you still need a Funimation Now subscription to even watch the first half of a long-running anime series that was licensed in the West and dubbed by Funimation. That, or resort to piracy or buying ultra-expensive Blu Ray box sets.
On the series where they added multilingual dubs, you get a flurry of "Sorry, due to licensing restrictions this particular dub cannot be streamed in your region" notifications litter the page, which is just a gigantic middle-finger to anybody that is multilingual. That and it reminds you of just how heavily restricted Crunchyroll's non-American library still is.
The English dub of Dragon Ball Super is still not there at all, and since that's a massive property that was licensed and dubbed by Funimation, it leaves me scratching my head. Having all 131 episodes of Dragon Ball Super on the platform (the only reason Crunchyroll UK even has that is because Daisuki shut down halfway through the Universe Survival arc) and no dubbed content feels dumb, especially from a big name merger like this.
To me Crunchyroll is only good for watching more obscure anime series. Trying to watch anything mainstream (other than Bleach or Naruto) will suck unless you're based in the US & Canada, or have a VPN.
At least Crunchyroll is getting new anime content though, and not wasting colossal amounts of money on horrible original series like High Guardian Spice...

I still have half a year left on my annual Funimation sub, but I guess they won't be getting any new content in all that time now? And they're only offering me 2 free months on Crunchyroll as compensation, so this feels kind of like a rug pull on the Funimation side.
I guess it could be worse--people who are already subscribed to both Funimation and Crunchyroll don't even qualify for the 2 free months.
I just emailed customer support, if paid annually, the remaining months will be sent to a new or existing Crunchyroll account:
"If you have an annual Funimation Subscription, don’t worry you won’t miss out. We can add any time you have left on that subscription to your new or existing Crunchyroll account. Please provide both your current Funimation account email address and your current Crunchyroll account email address and we’ll get you taken care of."

This is disappointing news for me. I don’t like crunchy roll UI, the shows don’t play for me half of the time because of my internet, and I need to use a VPN just to use it. When it comes to funimation, I don’t have any of those problems. No VPN, no loading problems, the UI is fine, and all of my shows are saved on there. :(
This is pretty good news. Not only will I have one less subscription, I won’t ever have to deal with Funimation’s terrible apps ever again.
Have you used Crunchyroll? Content is decent, but the platform is pretty bad.
The new Beta is far better, not perfect, but definitely better than Funimation.
I don't mind its UI, but vrv.co is an alternate, more modern looking way to access it

Funimation is not available here, but Crunchyroll is. So that's great news!

….also purple just looks better than orange..
Looking forward they improve Crunchyroll app, starting with user profiles.
