What have you been watching/reading this week? (Anime/Manga)
What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.
If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!
The first episode of season 3 part 2 of Attack on Titan just aired. It's the only anime I've been able to get into since the old Toonami shows (Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Samurai Champloo, Inuyasha).
You should check out One-Punch Man too then IMO. It seems to be having a very similar effect on people who haven't watched anime in a long time, and even those that have never watched anime before.
Currently watching Kage Kara Mamoru; it has an old charm to it, and lacks many of the done-to-death tropes. I'm also rewatching Ouran and Intial D (first stage).
Still watching Gintama. Despite the fact that I did enjoy the opening two-parter, now I think they should have just dropped it, because the following episodes are quite a bit better, and work just fine as an introduction to the series. I get that they probably wanted to kick it off with a more typical storyline compared to the team-building that actually starts the story, but still, I don't think it was necessary in this case.
Also going to keep up with Shield Hero, which has an episode on tonight.
Haven't been watching anime in a while, so yesterday I started to watch Steins;Gate. It's not new, but I really like it, the story is very gripping and I almost finished watching it.
Oh boy, you're lucky, I wish I could rewatch it as I'd never seen it. Although, I do rewatch it every so often.
Have you watched Steins;Gate 0?
The first season of JoJo has been released on Netflix, so I have been rewatching it while waiting for other anime to develop a little longer.
The dubbed version is not too bad, but it is almost worth watching simply because there is no dissonance between reading one name and hearing another. Though the first season doesn't really change the names too badly compared to the later ones.
Been working my way through a korean webtoon called 'Tower of God'. I haven't looked at much korean stuff before, but its got an official translation and is pretty entertaining.
I'm watching a bunch of stuff. One of them is One Punch Man. Really liking it so far.
I was rethinking about when he was talking about his training and how he became strong back in season 1. The other characters thought he was trolling. But taking a step back and looking at the One Punch Man world as a whole, he must have been saying the truth. In that world, I could actually see someone become that strong from that training.
Just a random thought.
