Interesting collaboration. I've read a couple of China Mievilles books and can recommend any of them if you want heavily left leaning weird fiction. I think every book has a very strong pro-worker message (even if it's clear he's also very pessimistic).

For example Kraken is contemporary but has a mishmash of various magical creatures, gods and their worshippers and servants as a hidden society in London. This sounds very generic so I have to add this is the setting for a labour dispute for the familiars union while a museum worker is roped into trying to figure out who stole a collosal squid, which is also the object of worship for a cult.

I can only imagine Mieville was specifically chosen by Keanu (is that how these types of collabs work?) because of that, and I wonder how that gets woven into the story of an immortal seeking to cure himself of immortality.

Does anyone know if the comic this is based on has similar vibes? I've never heard of it till now.

    It definitely got my interest!

Yeah, I saw that. But they were also being pretty vague about what the novel being in the same universe actually means. I assume it will be about the same character (B AKA Unute), but maybe it will be about a completely different immortal protagonist, or even someone/something else from the universe (since there is fair amount of mysticism and magic in it). Who knows? In any case, I'm excited to read it. :)

Absolutely brilliant! I binged pretty hard on Miéville's novels and short stories around a decade ago and have been looking forward to some new fiction from him for a long time indeed. I found his history of the October Revolution to be a great read too, and was well aware of his political activism before diving in though I don't feel it coloured his non-fiction writing too heavily.

On the other hand, I'm not familiar with Reeves' BRZRKR series. Though, in general, I've found that I tend to gel with his artistic choices so perhaps it would be well worth getting a read in beforehand.
