Are there any good programming podcasts to listen these days?

When I visit Youtube, their algorithms somehow always manage to come up with the most provocative and mind aggravating political videos and force me to watch them! I go there to do something else and then it takes an entirely different direction.

I've decided to switch to listening to podcasts for a change, do you know any good one, especially in the areas of Web Development, Engineering Stories, Desktop Development, Windows/Linux, etc.?

Corecursive is my absolute favorite. It never fails to motivate me to try to create something cool and impactful.

Corecursive is the best podcast I've ever listened to. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone that's interested in programming.

My favorite episode is the one with Paul Lutus. Such an interesting man.

This is also my favorite podcast. I like that the narrator gives extra context when it's needed.

I've also been looking for one for years and never found anything that was, well, anything other than reviewing some basics for a handful of episodes and then giving up. I think ML & AI is just really hard to have a casual discussion about for people that aren't explicitly research scientists. It's even sometimes challenging for people that aren't in the same subfield to have a deep discussion! While I'd love a podcast like that, I'm not sure how wide the audience would be.

While not a podcast per say, the tutorial sessions at the start of, say, CVPR and ICML are really good for passive listening and are often more in the vein of "Annual Review" rather than bleeding edge papers which can often be kind of meh. They're usually put up on YouTube or kept on the conference site.

I frequently listen to the Stack Overflow podcast and Coding Blocks. The first is usually a concise half an hour, while the latter can run a number of hours. But they have some interesting deep deep dives on a broad spectrum of topics from Git in depth to software architecture.

While those are ongoing discussions, I highly recommend Rabbit Hole from the NY Times, a closed series exploring the recent decade in internet culture.

And there is Hard Fork, also from the NY Times, a podcast on the political and societal issues of digital technology. This one pairs well with the Techdirt podcast.

I'm always a fan of Programming Throwdown. Syntax.FM also sounds like your jam vis a vis web development; Wes Bos and Scott Tolinski have a breezy style that doesn't skimp on the technical.

Oxide and Friends is also great, sometimes they talk about the stuff they are building but it covers a lot of other areas. Corecursive is great too.

Software Unscripted really is great. The episode with José Valim about static types in Elixir is one of my favorites.

Darknet Diaries is good. I think it requires some basic knowledge of computer science to fully understand and appreciate.
