More cities should follow. Cars are a waste of space in cities. They completely dominate city streets, even in countries where biking is very common.
Parrking should go underground or outside of city boundaries. Parking spaces can be replaced with benches, plants and trees. Combined with reduced noise and pollution, it would make living in cities much more enjoyable.

If there is, it's a failure of providing good public transit, probably in part due to predominance of personal vehicles.
Busses would likely be a ton faster if they didn't have to compete with other cars. Pedestrians and cyclists could have a lot more room to move.
Even outside cities, anywhere with a reasonable population density could easily be served by a fleet of public vans and busses. Use a Uber/Lyft shared ride system, but every vehicle can hold at least 8 with lots of room for cargo.
Private vehicle ownership should be the exception for demonstratable neccessity, not the rule.
I don't think I ever realised the scale of the transport issue until I heard about major cities (think it was a texan one with 1mil+ pop recieving 3 passenger trains a week. I live in a small UK...
I don't think I ever realised the scale of the transport issue until I heard about major cities (think it was a texan one with 1mil+ pop recieving 3 passenger trains a week. I live in a small UK town (10000pop but merges into a 20000pop town). Both where I live and the place it merges into have bus routes that aren't the best but are useable to other places as well as both having a station with trains every half hour in both directions.

Greyhound buses which are both terrible in quality and filled with the kind of people you would never want to get stuck in a bus with.
