The Mayor of Bologna is unequivocal: Spaghetti Bolognese doesn't exist. The real recipe from Bologna, Italy, is called Ragù.

Spaghetti bolognese absolutely exists, just like hamburgers and frankfurters.
That's just a quote and opinion of the Mayor of Bologna, but Alex actually agrees with you, and talks about that. However, spaghetti Bolognese doesn't originate from Italy, or typically get made/eaten in Bologna or anywhere in Italy, so the mayor is not entirely wrong in that narrower context.
Despite that digression, the main subject of the video is actually ragu (the meat sauce that spaghetti Bolognese was based off), and Alex cooking the original PDO recipe of it.
I think this is probably why updawg used frankfurters and hamburgers as their examples. Frankfurter Würstchen are probably about as similar to hot dogs as ragu is to spaghetti bolognese, and hamburgers' connection to Hamburg at all is uncertain.
Just saw old Top Gear episode where Jeremy and Richard goes across Italy. Rochard wants to eat the famous Spaghetti Bolognese while Jeremy eats Ragu everytime. In the end tells Richard... Since then I will remember this.
