Steve1989MREInfo, nice! ;) I didn't know you were also a fan, @mycketforvirrad. Or is this just a one-off you got fed by the YouTube algorithm because of your interest in all things Scandinavian? :P

Heh, figured as much. If you're interested in more, there are a few other rations from the region that he's tried over the years that were pretty interesting too. Some I can remember off the top...
I had in the back of my mind when I posted this, that you might pop out of your foxhole. I did my due diligence with the tags and saw the name attached to the previous posts. ๐

Yeah, I haven't posted many of his videos, since they're pretty damn niche... but I genuinely love them. Steve has a super chill presence about him, and a really relaxing/pleasant voice. I often...

We got especially lucky with the weather. It was supposed to be overcast and rainy for the first three days we were up there, but it only rained on the first day (which we mostly spent getting supplies and traveling up there anyways). And on the second morning it drizzled a bit, but then the sky cleared up and it was glorious the rest of the time. Record heatwave in Ontario too, so it actually got pretty damn hot (by Northern Ontario standards)! So during the days we spent the majority of our time just sitting on the dock, drinking, smoking weed and hanging out, swimming, kayaking, and occasionally taking rides on the motor boats. I even got a decent tan, which was unexpected. But we also ended up playing quite a few rounds of Mรถlkky in the front yard too though, which you might actually be more familiar with than I am since it's Finnish, and that was the first time I've ever played it. It was a ton of fun!
And at night we drank/smoked by the fire pit, and also nerded out playing the new Mario Kart on a giant projector screen in the basement, Civ 7 on our laptops, various board games, etc. So yeah, it was an awesome trip! :)
I've only watched one of his videos where he reviewed a super expired MRE. He nibbled on something and said, "Oh that's rancid!! (Chews and swallows)....let me have a other bite" It's like Weird...

It's like Weird Explorer for fruit, but (sometimes) gross sounding "food stuffs" channel :)
LOL. Yeah, I honestly don't know how Steve hasn't gotten botulism yet considering all the ancient food he's nibbled on over the years... or in many cases has actually fully eaten. Ditto for...

Ditto for Ashens, whose latest video is about an 80 year old can of dried fruit which, of course, he couldn't resist the urge to taste after opening up. :P

My tentacles into Scandinavian culture stretch far and wide. And the algorithm did play its part...

We're veering offtopic here, but did you have a pleasant trip "oop norf" with your friends?
