I mostly play EDH these days. I just built Kellan the Fae-Blooded but still need a few cards before he’s ready to play. I’m excited we finally have a proper Sunforger commander after like a decade of playing gimped Sunforger decks. I wrote a short primer here as well.

The idea of an Adventure creature as your commander is very cool. I don't have any Boros EDH decks so maybe I'll have to try this out.

How does this actually work? I assume you can choose to cast the sorcery from the command zone, and then you can put it back there once it resolves. Does that increment the cost to cast it again?...

So if you cast the adventure and return to the command zone, you still need to pay the 2 more for whichever half you cast next.

You don't pay any more for casting from exile.

I recall the Sunforger combo you had going on in an earlier version of this deck / other sunforger deck. It's exciting that there is a more viable commander to enable this. That's a great writeup...

Thanks, yea I had a deck that would try and tutor Sunforger out but it wasn't very reliable and often you don't want to grab Sunforger right away anyways. I think this deck is going feel a lot nicer to play but I have to finish building it first!

I actually fleshed out the primer a bit, I decided the deck needed a better backup plan so I added some tokens cards as a secondary win condition. It also makes this a great Skullclamp deck. WotC also coincidentally spoiled a much better and more versatile version of 'Angels's Grace' this week so I included it here as well.

I've got a few decks but the one I've been playing the most recently is Slobad, Iron Goblin. I love artifacts and Slobad's ability is pretty useful. The deck is mostly about sacrificing and reanimating my artifacts. There's a few upgrades I want to make to the deck at some point, most notably a Darksteel Forge and/or a Darksteel Monolith.

Oh, look how they massacred my boy. Nice deck. I used to have an Osgir deck that had some similar cards but this is way more aggressive. Looks fun!

I play a lot of standard on Arena, and this is my mono-blue list I've been really enjoying. I haven't updated it since WoE, and I know there's a lot of goodies there that will slot right in. I've been dabbling more with trying to put together some Dimir Faerie action.

As far as EDH goes my favorite deck is Izzet D20 tribal. It's not a good deck.. I've never won with it.. But it's a lot of fun, and the table always tends to enjoy playing against it. You never know what kind of shit is going to happen.

Just an aside, none of you happen to live in SE Michigan and are looking for another member for your pod are you? I moved here this year and haven't really loved the LGS experience.

Unfortunately no, although I'm in a similar boat with my local LGS. I mostly play on spell table these days, although I'm hoping to get a pod together eventually.

These days I play mostly EDH, and a fair bit using Tabletop Simulator. We have done a bit of Tiny Leaders, and one of our group wants to play Oathbreaker, so I have been trying to brew some decks for that. I recently had the idea to try to brew a deck in every single colour combination for EDH, which ended up with some good and many bad decks. Here are some of the ones I have been playing; some of them have primers. I generally don't play CEDH at all; we have a pod that generally doesn't like infinite combos, wants big nutty board states, and wants things to get out of hand, so most of this is jank at a very mid-level of power.

    The Good

Omelettes - the commander is Atla Palani, who lays eggs, and then whenever an egg dies, you reveal cards until you hit a creature and put that creature on to the battlefield. Everything you can hit is relatively hilarious to basically get for free. There are a few issues - card draw isn't great in R/G so mulling for Skullclamp is not a bad idea.

Om-Nom-Om-Nom-Om-NATH - what if all the Omnaths got together and had a party? It's a bit landfall, a bit ramp, and a lot of X spells. I actually had a beautiful @streblo inspired interaction with this the other day; one of the cards is Agadeem's Awakening || Agadeem, the Undercrypt which I had played as a land, but I bounced it back using a bounce land and then played the other side after a board wipe. I've found a few places for the MDFC lands, and thought of you when I did that.

Snakes on a Plane is a purely silly idea; every creature is a snake or a plane. It should be noted that this is in no way good but the delight that other people get about halfway through the game is worth it, when they get it.

My current favourite deck is You made this? I made this. - featuring Empress Galina, and it has no creatures in it other than the commander. One of the best interactions I've had was I cast Bribery on someone and took a creature from them, so they retaliated by doing the same thing; the incredulity when he finished looking through my deck and sheepishly handed it back was better than a win.

    The Bad

Adventure Time leans into the Adventure cards, and it turns out that they're mostly not that great. This deck has seen a couple of iterations, and I might try it again on Tabletop Sim, but I also might not. I was really excited to try this one out and I have rarely had such a bad mismatch of expectation to reality. To make this more fun to play, I would have to really dilute the adventures, and put in a lot of better cards... but then why not just play a deck with the better cards to start and a better theme? I think Adventures have a place, but they're just not that great in this instance.

    The Ugly

Curunir the Fallen starring Saruman of Many Colors. I think this is probably not a bad deck, but I don't know what happened when I was brewing it up, because at one point I tried to fetch a basic and realized that there were none and I looked at the decklist on Moxfield (since updated) and realized I had only put in 25 lands. I had a terrible game with it, and also mispiloted it twice, also by miscounting. I think that overall it might become an acceptable deck, but it left such a bad taste in my mouth.

IMO Krav/Regna are the best aristocrat commanders in the format.

Recently ive been playing around with this https://www.moxfield.com/decks/wTmJCO2ZX0mLzSH23BhpSg playing creatures that want to be blocked and using banding to make sure they dont die.

another fun one is Taigam, Sidisi's Hand, where I want to keep my graveyard full and my opponents empty, although most of the decklist for this one comes from EDH deckbuilding
    https://www.moxfield.com/decks/OA7_49pJn0K1uom4fRlpfQ

honorable mention to my mono-green aristocrat deck, although it usally just becomes land creatures
