I'm not often this struck by coincidence... I will probably purchase this and play it all the way through, again. The original is one of my favourite gaming experiences of all time.
Yours and @knocklessmonster's achievement is definitely way cooler. I only did it my way because I was honestly curious if it would even work, and was actually surprised when it did. If it hadn't...

If it hadn't I was even planning on seeing if there was any other hacky way to get it, like editing a runtime memory value, or intercepting a server query + spoofing a modified reply packet. :P

I'll get to play The Stanley Parable and get my achievement for not playing the original for five years. It's a win-win.
I got the achievement on 8 Dec, 2014 by just setting my computer's clock date 5 years forwards. ;)
I got it unlocked 18 Oct, 2021 @ 6:16pm by not playing for five years. You tell me which one is cooler. ;)

I'm definitely not going to bash somebody who is just messing around. It's an absurd achievement anyway, like the four hour baby game.
Ahh, you fell for my classic trap! Neither of them are cooler, they're both video game achievements! ;)
I could do that, but I want this satisfaction.
Parable? Sounds like the real life I used to have.
