Avatar is quite dear to me. So y'know, not gonna get my hopes up about new Avatar stuff until I can judge it for myself. BUT.... Saber did World War Z, which I consider one of the best modern zombie shooters and a reasonably good adaption of the book/movie. This is a completely different type of game though.

Out of previous Avatar games, I only started Platinum's Korra game, but dropped it pretty quickly. Generally, Platinum games bore me even if I'm interested in the premise, so I don't necessarily consider the Korra game bad, just not for me. Have folks enjoyed Avatar games? Would y'all want to see this be a similar, modern version of those, or a different formula?

I'm also in love with the platinum style of game design so I might not be the best person to ask. There is at least one person that enjoys that game though.

I wanna see a Tekken / Soul Caliber style fighting game between different bender types.

I feel like this was almost guaranteed by the success of the HP game. I would argue that ATLA is probably the only "deep" piece of 21st century now nostalgic children's media anywhere close to as universal as Harry Potter.

The only other ones I could think of from my own youth would be maybe SpongeBob (which has had multiple successful video games, but isn't serious enough for an AAA open world game), or Adventure Time (which, my impression is has a narrower age range than ATLA). Perhaps The Hunger Games is somewhere up there as well, but that is much more girl-coded.

On the other hand, the "best" ATLA game we've gotten as a Korra beat 'em Up from Platinum games. A few others were decent for the time, and most are just bottom of the barrel license games (including the most recent one, Quest for Balance). This one apparently is a completely separate story, so maybe that reduced need of adaptation can at least have them focus on a solid world and gameplay without worrying about recreating all those iconic scenes in the show.
