The only other starship-bridge-sim-game (not too sure what these are called...) I've played was Pulsar: Lost Colony, and I had a blast with that one. The world felt much more alive and "lived-in". Exploring that world and getting used to the intricacies of the ship systems felt super rewarding. I genuinely feel it's one of my top 5 games!
And I suppose that's my gripe with this. I want a game like this but with a world I can explore and learn about with friends.

That may be the upcoming game Jumpship. But there is still relatively little media on it. It doesn't feel real to me yet.
Valheim is up there among the most amazing games that I've never finished. It and BG3.
In the latter case, I loved the journey and its surprises so much that, like the best books, I couldn't bring myself to end it. I'm still a step or two from the finale. The twists and turns rocked my world in a way I've not experienced since (edit) Bioshock. "Would you kindly", anyone?

That, the ending of Freespace 2, and playing World of Warcraft for the first time are among my all-time favorite gaming moments.
