Neat, I assumed the update for 2.0 would be basically “start a new factory”. I wonder how it interacts with space age EDIT: ah, it’s marked incompatible with both space age and quality. Space age...
Version <= 0.6.x is for Factorio versions below Factorio 2.0. If you want to load a 0.6 or earlier save in 0.7+ then you should update to the last 0.6.x version in Factorio 1.1, re-save the game, and then update to Factorio 2.0 and the latest 0.7.x version.
Version 0.7.x is for Factorio 2.0. The 0.7 versions are intended to be as close to the 0.6 version as possible, while using the 2.0 version of the Factorio game engine. A lot of things had to change because of how the game engine changed, for example, the way you launch your first satellite rockets is slightly different.

EDIT: ah, it’s marked incompatible with both space age and quality. Space age is reasonable enough, would be nice if it worked with quality though

For some reason, I had thought Space Exploration as a mod had hit 1.0. I'm glad to see it's still being worked on. I've had a serious Factorio itch lately, but haven't been able to sit down to scratch it and with my personal laptop battery starting to swell I don't plan on using that laptop until I can take it to get the battery replaced.
If you have the money (and time) I highly recommend a Steam deck. It runs factorio great! A little tweaking of the community control layout and you’re good to go. The touch pad does a lot of the...

I was able to beat space age in 101 hours on only the deck. Plus the suspend / resume is incredible.
(The 256GB LCD version is 20% off right now though Valve / Steam)
Important to note that the steam deck runs vanilla factorio great. Performance suffers with megabases, or as they’re called in the space exploration mod, mid game bases

Appreciate the recommendation and glad it runs Factorio well! The downside being it isn't sold directly by Valve where I live so I'd need to trust an importer or get it when I visit the US again.
It's a maybe one day item for me and I think it'd definitely help me game more. For now I mostly use emulators + save states on my phone when I want to play a game that doesn't run natively on Android.
I would not expect a new Animal Crossing any time soon, to be frank. New Horizons released about halfway into the Switch's life after at least five years since the last entry, and the team that...
I would not expect a new Animal Crossing any time soon, to be frank. New Horizons released about halfway into the Switch's life after at least five years since the last entry, and the team that makes them is the same one who makes Splatoon. That series has a spin-off in the works and I'd honestly expect Splatoon 4 to come first, or at least a new release/expansion of Splatoon 3 since that game's development cycle has been somewhat extended compared to the entries before it.
Thanks for sharing that, I had no idea that the team that makes Splatoon also handles Animal Crossing! I wonder if working on such different games helps them keep things fresh when developing the...

That did get me curious, and it looks like they have released an animal crossing game every 4–5 years in the past, and it has been over 5 years since New Horizons came out. That game was the first time I saw my wife get really engrossed in a game since she didn't grow up playing video games, and I know she'll want to play the next one when it comes out.

I clocked SE a couple years back and it felt feature complete. Not sure if it's worth putting all that time and effort in again until they are at 1.0

Yeah that’s true, my bases really only get up to 100spm (space age). I’m not a megabaser unfortunately.
