Heck yeah, we've got a date! I'm very hyped for this, the world always needs more Control. I tried Firebreak recently, but it just hasn't got the magic the way I think we're going to have again here.

The only problem I really have with Control is that they keep using The Hiss for literally everything. Like Control Resonant might as well be called "Control: Outside(Now you play as a guy!)"...

Like Control Resonant might as well be called "Control: Outside(Now you play as a guy!)" because it looks like the exact same game as the first but you play as a guy and it takes place outside.
The trailer even shows the same floating people and the same fungal growth.
Don't get me wrong, I love Control, but it annoys me because the premise of Control lends itself to a myriad of unique and creative bad guys and stories to tell, that it frustrates me that it's ALWAYS the Hiss. Like we're dealing with multidimensions and unknowable entities or secret sects of competing secret societies, and yet the only real bad guy we have ever interacted with in the series is The Hiss.
And it's the same in Firebreak.
Oh and "The Dark Presence" if you follow Alan Wake, which honestly just feels like a variation or cousin of The Hiss since they're both infectious reality warping entities who take control of people and force them to regurgitate gibberish.
And with this game it's almost like what was the point of the first game since after the entire events of the first game, it seems like Jesse failed to contain the Hiss, failed to lead The Oldest House properly, and failed to contain the threats obviously.
Anyways, it just frustrates me to see them have a franchise with opportunity for deep worldbuilding and creativity, yet they just keep going with the same exact bad guy.
I feel like this date is probably gonna have to move if Remedy don't want to get stomped on by Silent Hill Townfall and to a lesser extent Wolverine -- hell back in 2023 they moved Alan Wake 2...

Anyway corpo talk aside I'm so unbelievably excited for this game. I feel like this trailer is alright but the "Paranatural Manhattan" trailer they showed at SGF was just gorgeous, this hugely confident flex of the game's art direction, with great music to boot
They said September 24th is somehow just right for them, even with these releases around it, so I'm hoping they have a sound strategy. They're certainly pouring a lot into marketing right now.

Pretty excited for this. Control is what got me back into gaming. The vibe of the game is so weird. I haven't found anything else quite like it.
Have you played Alan Wake 2? If you didn’t, consider doing so. In case you didn’t know this, Alan Wake’s & Control’s stories are connected.
I have it, but I haven't had time to play it. Thanks for the reminder!
