Hey Tilderinos, two years ago I released 63, my digital party game about guessing cards, and I was proud of that accomplishment. Releasing a game all by myself meant a lot to me. Everyone I know who played it enjoyed it, but there was always one complaint I kept getting over and over: there were not enough cards, and after a while they start to repeat. Custom packs were always something I wanted, it just wasn't realistic for the first release, since what I had in mind needed more than a card editor inside the app.
So this new update finally does it. You can now create your own packs on a companion website, packs.63.pt, and you can invite people to collaborate with you on them. You just need to share a link, they don't even need to create an account. That way you can send a link to your friends group chat, people add cards remotely, and then you play the pack when you're together.
The update also brings community packs, where you can submit your creations and anyone can find them from inside the app, expanding 63's collection well beyond what I could possibly write myself. Everything in the app is free and there are no paywalls, just a small one-time payment to remove ads.
Now that the update is out, my biggest fears and shortcomings begin. Last release I did almost no promotion for the game because I'm scared of marketing and am bad at self promoting. I kept telling myself I would finally do it one day, once I had implemented all the features I wanted. Well, that day is today, so here I am: a brand new website, a reworked store presence, and hopefully the will to actually go out and promote a game I am incredibly proud of.
I'm starting here since Tildes is such a safe place for me, and I'd love to know if you have any tips on indie self promotion, or just feedback on the update in general.

If I understand correctly, I can make my own pack - translate the cards into my language - and then play this pack? Is there some way to get all the english cards and their texts so that I could possibly translate them all at once?
Hi, yes if you make a pack you can write your own cards in your language and when submitting to the community you can set it in the pack so other people that speak that language might find it....

However, if you'd like to help translating the cards from the General pack (the default one that comes with the game) to another language I can send you the full text, and then add your translations to 63 as an official supported language. The next thing on my plans is adding more languages so any help with this would be incredible!
This is very cool and really well designed visually! I'm excited to give this a go. It's a joy to use. I'm attempting to learn UI/UX design in my spare time and I hope I can eventually imitate...

That said... The fact that it wants my "approximate" location for advertising bums me out. Is this something you have any control over?

About the approximate location, this is something I don't have a lot of control over, since I use the Google Ads SDK it sends your IP to Google to know your rough region in order to serve ads. There is no location permission in the app at all, it never reads GPS data or anything like it, this "approximate location" is entirely based on IP an is a required declaration to use the Ads SDK.
If that still leaves you uncomfortable you can remove the ads and no ad requests are made at all after that.

So if it's not derived from the fact that you are guessing words (like Monikers/Celebrities) I thought it could be about the time you have to guess, but a game called just 60 would be to hard on SEO so I decided on 63 since it's not that much more time and it looks like a friendlier number.
I also happened to got the 63.pt domain about a year after I chose the name (it wasn't available before) and after that it was set in stone since I absolutely love how simple the domain is.
Looks like fun, will try it at my next gathering. I'm currently on vacation for the next 2 weeks but would love to have a chat about it. I'm also making games in a similar causal party game...
