My bad - I missed that it was before the dinner, so I agree that the joke is nothing special. The rest still applies though.

As much fun as that would be, I have zero belief they’d go that far on this one. The joke was in just poor enough taste and the new CEO is still breaking in his chair. Maybe if Iger had theoretically really hated Trump in his last days, but no way the new guy goes into a legal battle with the FCC as his first act.

Just finished the audiobook - almost quit a few times early on but overall glad I pushed through (which is always easier to do listening!)

I remember when I was like 5 or 6, my parents, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, were looking to adopt and had started meeting with one of the agencies doing Chinese adoptions. In the end, it was too expensive a process and my sister and brother, who were adopted at 5 and 4, look pretty similar to the rest of our family.

I found this portion interesting generally, but also in thinking about what might have happened in my own life. Even without the monumental cross cultural and ethnic divide, I heard a lot from Haley that I’ve heard or seen from my sister over the decades.

I don’t know what’s normal for a movie, so maybe yikes or maybe way to do the due diligence? I know I’m looking forward to it after how much I enjoyed Superman.

I had assumed this was going to be a full reboot, so I’m pretty excited to hear the news. I didn’t watch much Atlantis (I want to say that was late high school and college, and I was just not watching much of anything), but certainly watch a lot of SG-1 and even SGU. My favorite part of SGU was the first time I heard Mumford and Sons in the season 1 finale.

My biggest takeaway from this was that d’Artagnan was based on a real person and not completely made up. The article notes the three musketeers are made up, so at least that aligns with my preconceived ideas.

Also, not explicitly related to this, I really loved the BBC The Musketeers show.

I probably said that with too much… firmness? In a sense, everyone majorly changes through the process. I suggest she is the main person in view because she is the one who moves from the teenage to adult form through the experience. Also, the story continues after Gregor’s death with Grete as the focal point in the ending.

I think a question it could potentially raise is if he went actually went through metamorphosis or if his transformation would be considered something else (de-evolution)?

First time reading (listening, to be accurate), and I enjoyed it. Took me til basically the last sentence to realize who the title was referring to, but I never figure out twists.

Concrete barriers on freeway construction zones. I’ve still never even scraped one, but I still hate them and clench my fists real tight around the steering wheel when I find some.
