Overall, it looks better than I expected. I am worried that the Wild Area will be a shallow gimmick that they hastily implemented halfway through development when they heard that fans wanted them to look to BotW for inspiration. I hope I'm wrong, but it just feels like a half-measure that will please no one.

Everything in this direct was great except for the dynamax mechanic. I’m getting tired of having a new battle mechanic with every new game that’s abandoned with the next gen. First mega evos, then z moves and now dynamax. Also, this seems like the laziest possible was to do it. “Let’s increase the size and give it an aura, so we don’t have to actually have to design anything.”
Even though, I am being a bit critical of it. Overall, I really liked this direct. The new mons were great and really well designed (although the legendaries were a bit underwhelming for me). I love the direction they’re taking with the wild area (why couldn’t they just call it “the wild” though?) especially with the roaming wild Pokémon. I think the raid mechanic is so cool and can’t wait to do it with some friends. Graphics look so much better than the last two as well. Overall, definitely looking forward to this game.
Consider me hyped, this looks like something I've been dreaming to happen, and I really hope this game delivers. I am a bit worried about hom limited the open area is if you'll look at some parts...
