I wouldn't be surprised if this eventually ends up on PC, Square Enix seems to be making the PC more of a first class platform nowadays, what with releasing Nier Automata and Final Fantasy XV....

That being said, don't hold your breath until they actually announce it.
Is it still episodic? I had assumed they got rid of that idea a while back. They said that the physical version is going to be two discs, and it takes quite a lot of data to fill up a single blu-ray.

They followed the idea through as far as FF13 but it really eased off in difficulty imho. I'll be another waiting for the PC release though so I guess I'll accidentally learn most of this before I get to play.

I love Final Fantasy and specially FF7, but i don't have high expectations about this. Modern videogames rarely grab me these days.
Seeing the trailer was awesome. Seeing scenarios, bosses and enemies in other perspectives, but i'm not in awe with the graphics.
I will certainly try to play it, but only if it's out for PC (and when it'll be possible to run on Linux).
Oh i certainly think if the game is really good it is worth the price if it's not expensive. Will it be? I love FF7 as much as the next guy. I grew up playing the japanese version of it before...

I love FF7 as much as the next guy. I grew up playing the japanese version of it before there was the english one here in Brazil. It's still my favourite JRPG together with Mario RPG (Snes) and Persona 4 (ps2).
It could not be bad to have 300 hours of FF7, but i don't get my hopes up. You seem certain that it will not suck and i hope you are right. I'm just happy that the battles are not pure action.
If it gets too long, it gets boring. Let's take off the nostalgia glasses. FF7 is not that profound and deep to need 300 hours of fleshing out. I hope that fleshing out is not making an open world full of repetitive side quests like a lot of modern games.
But i hope it will be good because i'm dying to see it. Anyway, i will not pay for it on the heat of the moment.

It certainly has a lot of material in there. The game suffered from the limits of that time. PSX was the first console doing the big rpg thing and we were coming from an era where cities/villages on RPGs were big on the outside, but mostly 4 or 5 houses when inside.
What i'm really eager to see is Costa del Sol. And Gold Saucer!
