This is a sudden and huge loss to the Starcraft community. He will be missed.

It's been a couple of days but this still feels surreal. iNcontroL was a constant presence in the StarCraft scene, a favourite of both the Koreans and the foreigners purely because of his personality. He was basically never in the running for his actual playing ability but he was the perennial team captain even for other teams. It's so odd that he's... gone. Just like that. There's definitely a hole in the small but very close-knit StarCraft scene.

For my money, games aside, StarCraft's esports scene was always the gold standard: the most professional production teams, the best quality commentating and analysis, and some of the top tier personalities. A lot of the big names in other esport productions got their start with the StarCraft scene. iNcontroL was a large part of that, the man could launch into bizarre, Dr. Cox-esque rants and stories out of the blue and have everything laughing out of their chairs. Even as the StarCraft scene shrunk as other esports started dominating the market, the StarCraft personalities remained powerfully charismatic, a close team of people around the world who could take any game and make it an exciting affair. Without him, there's going to be a big hole in the StarCraft scene.
