Outer Wilds is one of my games of the year. It's more or less a student game design project which got critical acclaim which lead to a publishing deal with Annapurna.
I'm taken by the idea that this game is just so different from other games out there—from its lack of goals to its overall design philosophies. Give it time, but I bet this game is going to be referenced in "games discourse" fro years to come, and likely shift the way designers think about games and how their player fits in the game's world. (At least, once people start being less spoiler adverse about the game.)
