I think we've gotten a bit too small if we're minimizing portables, but if this is the big crazy SEGA news that's been hyped up, it's a little underwhelming.

A 1 inch screen? Four games? This is worse than the PS1 mini. All this is going to do is get thrown in the trash after about 6 months or whenever you beat the four games (whichever comes first).
For roughly $20 more you can get something like the RG350 (specs and device review here) that can emulate almost everything up to the PS1 (including Game Gear).
There are other devices like this one all at price points close to this Game Gear mini.
I'm not advocating for piracy (I'm also not not advocating for piracy). If you want to use this legally you can purchase used copies of the games you want to play which gives you the right to emulate them.

You can purchase Genesis ROMs on Steam and put them on any device you own device legitimately.
You are not the audience for this. It is very clearly a collector's item.
They're expensive, but they kind of make me think of those singular hand-held games of the past (in terms of scope).
