Interesting with the final retail prices that Microsoft got the cheaper console in this generation. Still, I managed to watch from halfway onwards and it seems like a pretty decent selection of games coming up. My brother has let me borrow his PS4 and honestly the amount of high quality titles on that platform is amazing. I feel kind of frustrated for picking the PC/Nintendo Switch over the PS4 when the PS4 fits my lifestyle so much more better.
Note sure that is really accurate. The Xbox Series X is going to cost $499, while its slower version the Series S is going for $299. So they both effectively cost the same if you want top of the...

So they both effectively cost the same if you want top of the line system with disc support. Both of them offer cheaper alternatives if you don't need a disc or if you don't care about highest visual quality.
That's a bit ironic, I actually thought the PS4 had fewer quality exclusive titles than any previous generation I've owned. But then again I do have some fairly unusual tastes. Plus those...

Plus those exclusives tend to hit pretty hard; games like Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War could pretty easily justify the cost of the console in my opinion.
Even so, I'm thinking of skipping this console generation altogether. It seems that most games are cross-platform already, so I will probably focus on the PC versions of games. Maybe when Nintendo announces their successor to the Switch I'll buy that, but in the meanwhile the PC will be my primary.
I see what you mean - I actually agree with you, I think I just phrased it wrong. It isn't exactly an abundance of good games, but the games that are available on the PS4 are just very good. I...

I think I might end up getting one as a birthday present since I did mention how I'm looking forward to getting a PS5. I don't blame those who are planning to give this gen a skip, though.
In Mexico the PS5 was already sold out in hours, here Sony's brand loyalty is really strong. I still find a bundle as Game Pass, Series S and a 4K TV a good deal.

As someone who exclusively buys games from the PS store anyway because I hate walking over to swap games, the $400 digital version is looking like a very attractive deal. I mean, who am I kidding,...

Here in Brazil, a major bank has financing line for buying next-gen consoles in up to 48 installments (with interest). My friends joke that we’ll have to choose between buying a PS5 or a new car....

The Brazilian Real is now worth less than 1/5 of the US dollar. We’re going through a harsh recession, and our import taxes are high. It’s kinda sad always being one generation behind :P

Ah, my bad! I thought the Xbox Series X was going to be $399/$400. Glad you cleared that up - I've been struggling to keep up with all the news 😅
Microsoft's cheaper console has slower hardware, so it makes sense.
