I don't think anyone is particularly surprised by this announcement. The game seemed like a dud since it was first announced with being just another games as a service IP meant to crank out money for the studio. I wouldn't be surprised if the Marvels Avengers game gets the axe soon too considering its current state.

With two very poorly received games in a row for Bioware and with EA as their parent company, I wonder if they are going to get closed soon altogether. Also, if I remember correctly, I thought that Bioware had previously stopped updates to Mass Effect: Andromeda so that they could redirect efforts on Anthem. The fact that Anthem turned out to be a flop despite that has got to be difficult for the developers there.

No Man's Sky also started out terribly. They've since made great strides and have become an actually enjoyable game. Not to mention with how small of a team they did it all with the fact that No Man's Sky is even still played to this day by anyone is a miracle. They really put their all into fixing the storm they initially released.

EA/DICE fixed up Battlefront 2 fairly well, although the game still feels off if you ask me and it must be because of engine wonks.

At least it seems Anthem's death was not in vain, its failure allowed Bioware to make a real Dragon Age game.

Time for some news that is going to make BioWare fans really happy.

Following the success of Jedi Fallen Order and the failure of Anthem, EA has allowed BioWare to make the next Dragon Age a single-player RPG. Previously, it was planned as a service game

I am automatically rerouted to the Portuguese version. What an annoying pattern.
