Tildes Community Valheim Server - April 2021 Update
Hi all,
We are approaching the end of the billing cycle for the server and I wanted to gather feedback with all the users who have logged on and contributed to the server over the past few months. I believe we have nearly exhausted the options for gameplay and built an incredible Tildes Town, and as a result gameplay on the server has dropped for the past month. I reset the boss progress a few weeks ago but I think based on the server stats I have checked intermittently over the last few weeks, there is very little activity. Before the billing cycle hits again, I wanted to gather thoughts and feedback on the next steps for it.
- I can keep the server up and running if there is still interest in playing on it.
- The server can go offline and I can provide the world save files for those who want to archive it and continue playing solo offline.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks to @Good_Apollo for the server donation! The server will stay up for a few more months thanks to them!
I have joined and marvelled at Tildes Town a few times; most of my Valheim time has been with my kids, though, and I haven't spent much time there. I do think Tildes town is pretty amazing though, and want to thank you for setting it up and keeping it running as long as you have.
I've got access to a friends sliced up dedicated server. We have a bunch of idle gameservers running in docker containers just gathering dust (including a valheim instance that hasnt progressed past the elder), it's a fairly beefey server so I think we've got room for a few more.
We did have some really bad but sporadic issues with desync, although I figure that's more likely to be valheim being valheim more than the server being underpowered. Also it's surprisingly set and forget since just restarting the container will update the server if there is one, which really makes me think of this as a gameserver life support more than anything.
I came late to the server so I'm probably not as invested as some but still, my time logged definitely fell off these past weeks. I definitely plan on sinking more time into the game once there's more content, but in the meantime I probably won't be logging on regularly. I'd still like a copy of the save though! And if you decide to revisit this after the next update, I would definitely be interested in playing, and willing to pitch in on server costs.
Also, thanks so much for hosting this! What little time I was able to spend in Tildes Town was very fun :)
