I feel like going all the way back to that horrible late 90s movie, the D&D IP just gets treated like such a dumpster. The really good things (like the Gold Box games) seem like the exception...

I’ve wanted a game with the companions of the hall forever and this is what we get…It truly is bad, the combat is broken, the enemies are dumber than a box of rocks and you don’t feel powerful at all. The only thing it’s got going for it are the environmental graphics and that’s only a piece of the game.

I was looking forward to it as well. Maybe the backlash will lead to a more solid game a few months from now.
