An interesting analysis of scented candles reviews vs. COVID-19 spread
@Kate Petrova:
I couldn't just walk past this Tweet, so here is some fun #datavizScented candles: An unexpected victim of the COVID-19 pandemic 1/n https://t.co/xEmCTQn9sA pic.twitter.com/tVecEiX5Jc
Since one of the notable symptoms of COVID-19 is a loss of smell, someone noticed that reviews of scented candles have been getting more negative due to a "lack of smell." Someone actually charted the data and it seems to indicate that yes, people are leaving negative reviews over a lack of smell (which is most likely actually just COVID-19).
I've been referring to dead skunks on Northern Michigan roadways as "DIY COVID-19 testing" for months now. If I pass near one of those stripey road pancakes and can't smell it, I'll hasten to get a real test. Likewise, the cat litterbox.
It's pretty funny, to be honest, even if it's a dark sign. I disagree with the one-star saying "If you can't smell them, get checked for COVID," but only because it should be 5 stars.
The lack of self awareness...

I have the same issue, both on Firefox and Edge
I'm not sure he meant it to be a link. Checking the source, there's not an actual destination. It's just a bare <a> element wrapping his text. I don't think you can do that with just markdown.
This is the link they meant: https://twitter.com/qwrrty/status/1331769213850148867?s=20
They added an extra 's' in the https and it broke it for some reason. It's viewable in markdown.
As someone with chronic anosmia (smell blindness), seeing people's varied reactions to losing their smell has been interesting/amusing.
This seems like a good place to say that scented candles are a large source of VOCs and indoor air pollution in general.
