My favourite hobby is mechanical keyboards, I love the way they feel, look, and sound. It's one of those things that seem really simple and shallow at first, but after you scratch the surface a little and get into it you find out there is so much to learn and so much to try.

Here are a few links to some mechanical keyboard communities if anyone is interested:

I think that's apt because people who are in the Mechanical Keyboards community spend way too much on keyboards, just like people who like shoes spend way too much on shoes. Also Mechs are highly customizable and people get really fancy with key caps and I think shoes are similar to that in regards to style.

The next time I meet someone who is into mechs, I'll ask them where they buy their shoes.

I'm a fan of mechanical keyboards too! I have the Coolermaster Pro M with brown switches (unfortunately I don't have it with me over the summer D:). In the future I'm hoping to build a custom 1800 or 96 key with some kind of clicky or even stronger tactile feel switch. Those layouts get at making the keyboard smaller without much sacrifice in how many keys you have, which I like.

I know I'm smalltime in mechanicals with one keyboard. What keyboard(s) do you have?

Someday I also need to get a switch tester and really try a bunch of switches. Cherry is good, but there's so much more out there. I have heard of Zealios, but never the two switches you mentioned!

Tealios are Zeal's linear switch, a little overpriced for what they are in my opinion but after lubing they are really smooth, but wobbly.

Zealiostotles are a mixture of an Aristotle stem (a really old switch that is terrible, but the stem has a great clicking mechanism) and a Zealio housing. They are by far to me the most tactile and nice feeling clicky switch.

And yea a switch tester is a great idea, but trying out a single switch is never the same as a whole board of them. If I were you I'd try to go to a local meet up next time there is one to try out other peoples boards and switches!

EDIT: To reply to you seriously, I usually do a light amount of world building before I start a campaign, before expanding it based on what direction the players want to go in, and then abandoning the campaign when I get bored with it... You should probably skip that last part.

If you're world building as a DM, it can be fun to have your players define some stuff about the world as part of a "session 0" or what have you. It gives everyone a stake in the setting, and leads you in directions you wouldn't have gone in on your own.

I feel like things come off so much better when you are able to fix pretty much everything you want to.

What do you do if you don't know what to draw?

Anything. Everything. Draw what you love. Draw things you don't love. Some common and fun exercises are:

Draw your non drawing hand in weird positions.
Draw an apple, orange, or some other roundish fruit.
Crumple a napkin or a piece of paper and put it to the side of a desk lamp. Draw it just by shading the shadow shapes.
Draw a glass half full of water by sketching the shapes of the things you see through it.
Draw the negative space of an item - like you're outlining the air around it.
Take a picture that you like and turn it upsude down. Copy it that way.

          And just have fun!

Are you Hunter S. Thompson? :P

Today I was working on a dock right next to an inlet from the ocean (I'm a tree timmer and I work in Florida). Since it's Saturday, people were just boating around but what I found really strange is that a group of four boats was just floating in o ne spot. It was obvious that the people knew each other, but they were all on their individual boats just chilling next to each other. I found that to be, for lack of a better word, stupid. Is that something you do, or would do? Most of these people had kids so I can't imagine they were getting drunk, just sitting in an anchored boat.

From what I could tell, though, they were just chilling on their individual boats and not drinking. I could understand if they were partying, but they were more or less just sitting there. Looked pretty silly. I'm very asocial and introverted, so if I were on my own boat I would rather cruise around and do cool boat stuff. A go-fast boat did pass us while we were working and it sounded awesome.

I love computer hardware, and since I can't afford to tinker as much as I'd like I watch a lot of tech videos on youtube. I also like to use my PC for gaming, programming, and fiddling around with Linux.

I am definitely someone who has to exercise to avoid going crazy, so I run and bicycle a few times a week.

I also like reading, and am currently working on How to Make a Spaceship, by Julian Guthrie. Space is why I am studying engineering, so I always love a chance to read a good space/scifi book.

I also 'built' this computer for my wife. She does web development and before she was using the fucking worst all-in-one desktop ever that was slow as balls and really wasn't up to the task of web development.

Unfortunately I'm a student, so I move around a lot and don't have the funds and space for more than my laptop most of the time. Luckily my laptop is good for most of what I want to do. Once I'm out of school and have a steady job though, I want to always buy hardware a generation or two back so I can justify upgrading every time something new comes out :D

I know it's offtopic, but my brother has, I'm hoping, finally reached rock bottom and is making an effort to improve his life. He's reached the point where he's either going to be a homeless drug addict for the rest of his life, or he's going to improve because he's honestly at the point where he can only improve where he's at now. Before that, all he's done is bitch about all the things that are wrong with his life, much like yourself. That was his hobby.
