If you look at the way back for 2/12/25 vs 2/13/25 every mention of trans people and identities is removed. Everything went from LGBTQIA+ to LGB.
Alt National Park Service says it was not NPS staff that made these changes. I believe them for what it's worth. But man do I want to carry a brick right now. Or cry, or both.
What do folks need right now? Can we help each other?
I'm so sorry. That's just inhumane. This shit is all atrocities start, I'm so sorry. I hope all you trans folks across the Atlantic can stay safe.
Edit: https://www.nps.gov/ston/index.htm further down in the page, you can state that the page was not helpful and then leave a complaint as to why. While in practice that may not change a lot, I still wanted to share it.
I did, but it was formed as a plea to the NPS workers to take the hard road and do what they could to restore things. But it sounds like they're likely locked out per Alt National Park Service

Yeah I saw. It's an absolute atrocity. An apartheid loving oligarch and a marinated criminal is literally performing hostile takeovers left and right to just destroy what can be destroyed holy shit. I'm just so sorry.
If I have some hope it's in looking for the resistors. The signs haven't been altered at the monument itself. And we have the archives of the website. It can be restored.
Every blow hurts though
This hurts to read.
The only solace (if any) I can offer in this time is that the legacies of the trans people of the Stonewall Riots have already survived decades of discrimination, and I believe their legacies will survive this too.
They were strong, and their strength will live on.
Trans people existed long before us, and will long after. Same with all the other letters of the alphabet.
Yeah.
We still know about Christine Jorgensen. We still know know about Dr. James Barry. We still know about The Public Universal Friend. We still know about Elagabalus. They can try to erase trans legacies, but some always survive. Going through names from recent to ancient helps me believe that trans legacies will survive.
I don't have much to say except this is an outrageous disgrace
Wow fuck this. How can anyone think it’s ok to erase history like this. I thought all those dystopic novels weren’t supposed to be inspiration.
Will the American Right, who have said they were so concerned about "preserving history," rise up to protest this? Somehow I doubt it.
Definitely not. I'm sure they see this as retribution for tearing down confederate statues. They don't care about history, they care about rewriting it to fit their worldview.
