Is there a guide or forum for people who have questions, but not because they feel like they might be on the other binary side, but because they never really felt drawn to any of the sides? It's like being told I'm a Virgo but I don't care about astrology so there's no reason to try to look into if I maybe fall into any of the other 11? I don't have any unhappiness about being my assigned gender though, other than unhappiness about cultural nonsense like X can't do this or Y must do that: I think we all lose with that kind of thinking so I'm not envious of or secretly wanting to be the other side. Is that just speaking from privilege of being cis-gendered and all cis-gendered people feel like this?

I just feel like a fraud when answering the question "I identify as ---" because I don't honestly care, I identify as a Meat Popsicle if that was what I was assigned. (I don't feel any particular emotion identifying as my assigned sex, it is what it is.) It feels disrespectful to folks who feel so strongly all along they are their gender

You could identify as agender or apagender, if you want a label. Or just don't give a fuck, that's cool too. I'm trans but agender for the same reason I'm aromantic - I just don't understand how...

I'm trans but agender for the same reason I'm aromantic - I just don't understand how anything can feel like gender in the same way that I don't understand how something can feel romantic. I like painting nails because painted nails are pretty and sometimes I want to feel pretty. I like lifting heavy things because I enjoy the confidence of being strong. I enjoy intimate moments with people I am close to, regardless of gender or whether we are dating.

I would say I'm too autistic to be having these social construct labelled emotions, but some people seem to have very strong feelings about these things and thus it's easiest to just not think too hard about it.

Consider That Most Cis People Don’t Think About Their Gender Very Much [...] I’ve asked many of my cis friends if they’ve ever seriously thought about their gender identity, and nine times out of ten they have not. Cis people don’t constantly wonder what it would be like to be a girl. They haven’t had daydreams about how nice it would be if they woke up in a different body. Their hearts don’t race when they think about body-swap movies. Some of them may have imagined what it would be like to be in a body with a gender other than their assigned gender at birth, but those thought experiments have been brief and purely intellectual. There’s no energy there. Not for them.

Oh. Haha, that tracks then, thanks you! Yup this is me, no energy whatsoever. Long read, but that was really eye opening and the knowledge will come in handy for how I mindfully interact with others going forward. Thank you

I'm not affiliated with the project, but I like that it exists and wanted to encourage anybody who does not identify with the gender binary to participate :)
