I know how difficult it is to ask for help when you are in a situation like this, but even a small step will bring in a huge change.
If anyone would like to talk about it, I am just a message away :)

Don't worry OP, while what you said might come of as somewhat insensitive, I don't think there's any better way you could have phrased it.

Loneliness and by extension, depression, while being a general problem, is highly dependent on individual specific circumstances. It's hard to help people when you don't know what those specifics are. Unless you spend a lot of effort following the individual and analyzing their actions, the only way to know those specifics is to ask them to share. If they don't, there's nothing that can be done beside giving some generic advice.

On the other hand, lonely or depressed people are trapped in a thought process that prevent them from wanting to talk about it. So for people to tell them to talk when they're saying that they can't, especially when they don't have the energy and there's like a millions of minutia that no conversation can get through all, it would always come off as an insensitive request.

It's a dilemma, if they want to get better they need to go get help, but if they can go get help then they would have already been better.

Finding content on tildes is so hard, jesus christ. I was searching for this video and went to ~science and ~health. Finally came to ~life and here it is. Annoying.

At one point, the video states that loneliness is "twice as death as obesity and as deadly as smoking a pack of cigaretes a day". I find that surprising and hard to believe..

I just tried the search bar with the title and it's the first result. How were you searching?

Deimos has also hinted at a potential feature to allow for the same post to exist under multiple groups previously, which would help for cases like this.

When your brain is in constant turmoil and you get panic attacks just by the thought of talking to people, it definitely takes a toll on your health.

Yeah, it's hard to find things around here right now. Welcome to the alpha. It'll get better. ;)
