How to let someone down?
for those still committed to monogamous relationships: if you've been in a situation where you're talking with a few people that could be romantic interests, how do you let them know it's not gonna happen once you've found the (current) one ?
Be clear and direct.
If they're going to take it hard there's nothing you can do to avoid that, but honesty and brevity limits the fallout.
And if they don't take it hard they'll appreciate not being patronized.
Depends on the relationship you have with the other pursuits. One date? You say nothing unless they try to come on to you again. More than that? Just tell them you’re dating someone and wish them the best. Don’t tell them in person or make some production out of it.
