What if you threw a baseball at nearly the speed of light? - XKCD's What If series has been slowly appearing as animated videos on youtube. This is the most recent.

I fought an Aikido master - I thought this was a very interesting video, not because of the sparring (which is pretty good) but because of what Leo Tamaki has to say about aikido, which goes a long way to explaining why some people think it's not a "real" martial art.

Kill Your Lawn - Spiritual Revitalization Through Slaughtering Lawns - I love Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't, the whole channel is well worth a look. Joey is extremely knowledgable and passionate about his subject, combine that with a very distinctive style and it's a winner. Also it is nice to see a lawn being torn up. Awful things.

The Rainiest Place on Earth - I don't generally dig Veritasium videos but this one is neat because of the location.

I think the sparring portion is pretty important. Interesting to see Leo isn’t straying too far from what we see in MMA with wrestling, jabs and front kicks.

the thing no one will say about Apple Vision Pro by Casey Neistat

I have no interest in the Apple Vision Pro, but it gave Casey Neistat the opportunity to tell a compelling story. Watching it made me nostalgic for 2015-2016 during the height of Casey's daily vlog. Where every day meant waking up to one of his videos that was overflowing with strong and stylishly told story built from whatever happened in his day.

Cambridge... I dunno.. they seem to have all the "bright ideas" when it comes to solving transportation problems. They do love a bicycle in Cambridge it's fair to say, which is no bad thing. The problem is they keep getting run over and in this video we look at a roundabout that promises to solve this. But I'm not sure if it does.

Is there any good news about climate change?

This is a grounded yet optimistic video by Simon Clark about current progress towards climate goals and realistic expectations for how much we can limit warming in the next century. Pretty engaging and worth a watch if you are frequently overwhelmed by climate news. This is not a "benefits of a warmer planet" take, this is very much a look at the progress we have made thus far, and it's not nothing!

Simon is a youtuber and climate science PhD I have followed on and off for years now. He recently posted a video about how his channel was no longer sustainable as views and monetization had been declining, but since then I guess he has enjoyed some increased attention. That video certainly got me back to watching, and now even sharing!

Third episode in Beau Miles' running 220k series was released:
I knocked the bastard off - Retracing the footsteps of a murderer (Ep 3)

A BLOODY LONG RUN - EPISODE 3: I find myself in good shape, in the mountains, about to start day two of running the 220km McMillans walking track. I'd failed on my first attempt 15 weeks earlier and was back, bearded, a little cagey, fresh off the back of some hard months of training in the hills. I was here for two reasons; to run the magnificent backcountry of my home state, and to think about my luck in life, and where this luck has come from.

Previous two, for those who haven't seen them:
Retracing the footsteps of a murderer (Ep1)
Retracing the footsteps of a murderer (Ep2)
