The fact that this title is 100% truthful and not an exaggeration/clickbait proves reality is sometimes stranger than fiction.

What the hell is his thought process that he thinks he can somehow sweep all of those stories under the rug by adopting "anime shitposting" as a PR position? If anything that's just going to amplify the stories because of how salacious they are.
Going out on a limb here, but I'd posit that he's operating on a different wavelength than the rest of us.
Several of my friends would 100% vote for him because of anime shitposts, and they think that going off to be a drug lord in south america is cool. They are very responsible adults.

Obviously he's not serious about running for office, this is just a publicity stunt, a really pathetic one at that.

Neither was Trump. Nothing would surprise me at this point.
What do you mean by serious? In 2016 he filed with the FEC and was in the Libertarian Party primary, I suspect he'll do the same in 2020. That's somewhat serious. Does he actually want to win? Maybe not.
But IMO him winning the primary would be pretty good. There's no way he could win the general, but he might take votes from Trump (possibly more than Gary Johnson did). And if he stays public enough he might get into some entertaining pissing matches with Trump.
This is somewhat tangential, but if you're going to try to appeal to people by learning to shitpost about anime, then maybe learn to shitpost in general, find an anime you enjoy and actually watch it, then shitpost organically.

That's what I don't get about this campaign: it's only noteworthy as a passing joke, like sassy social media accounts it's probably going to fizzle and die out because of how clearly it's still controlled PR rather than actual shitposting.
Exactly. It's only funny if it's genuine. When it's forced for PR, it's pretty obvious.
I mean it's funny now because of how completely whack the whole thing is, but we're not laughing with John McAfee, we're laughing at him, and that's not good PR.
