2020: The year the satire in the Onion became 100% indistinguishable from reality.
The amount of MRAPs that local leos have across the country is disturbing. They should stay the property of the National Guard stored away in some warehouse somewhere, not sold to law enforcement for cheap furthering their militarization.
"it feeds off fear and terror, it's no wonder Conservatives are raving about it" That is a scarily accurate description for how Trump came to be elected. :( And in the ticker: "Orb more...

That is a scarily accurate description for how Trump came to be elected. :(
And in the ticker:
"Orb more hate-filled, unpredictable than recent GOP candidates"
"Conservative flock to exciting new ball of rage"
"Supporters: Orb can bring flood of luminous righteousness to D.C."
"Orb has absorbed several school children trying to throw rocks at it" <-- 😵

"Unintentionally Prophetic" should be The Onion's unofficial slogan at this point, for example this 2010 piece joking about people being sacrificed to corporate America, which seems to have unintentionally predicted policy makers arguing it would be acceptable to have a higher COVID-19 related death count if it meant safeguarding the corporate economy.
If they interviewed the officers directly maybe, I'd buy that. Especially based on some of the clips I've seen recently.. Some definitely have a "If you got it, you gotta use it" when it comes to...

I mean, The Onion have been satirically prophetic for a number of years now. This video was published in 2012.

Also eerie was the mentioning of Richard Burr stepping down during the video considering:
Sen. Richard Burr stepping aside as Intelligence Committee chair amid FBI investigation of senators’ stock sales
Let's just hope the ticker quote from him also doesn't turn out to be similarly prescient:
"Sen. Burr: Majority of Americans dead, don't know it yet"
Honestly the one that really got me was the byline that popped up on the screen at the end;
Its basically exactly what happened.

I genuinely thought it was an opinion piece from Vice or something.
100% indistinguishable?

Maybe if instead of "Sick" they kept the tone less sarcastic, yes.
Sometimes it seems like The Onion is just giving them new ideas for creative ways to be awful.
