I was curious about the director, and stumbled onto Rhys Waterfield. He directs a short film in 2014, and goes completely dormant after. In 2021, he explodes back onto the scene with an absolute mountain of schlock movie credits. Renting the wrong movie by mistake at Redbox can't possibly rake in that much, or can it? Reading his IMDB page is like having a money laundering operation stare back at you.

Jagged Edge Productions is scraping the bottom on reviews, consistently. I searched film after film and didn't find a budget anywhere--the whole thing bugs me. Movies that don't register in the zeitgeist enough to garner a review... are fueling a booming production company with no signs of slowing down. I don't get it.

I think most "discerning" movie viewers vastly underestimate the market for shitty movies, especially shitty scifi and horror movies. They're also usually incredibly cheap to produce, so are low risk or even no risk at all, since to break even or modestly profit from them is often already assured due to preexisting distribution deals and presales. And not only that, but such movies can even occasionally rake in millions if they go viral. E.g. Sharknado grew The Asylum's revenue from $5M to $19M from that one film alone. And this isn't a new phenomena either, since people like Roger Corman have had very successful, decades long careers from producing mostly shlock in much the same way.

I like the idea they’re going with here: that Christopher Robin abandoned his forest friends after he grew up and when he returns home, they want revenge. It’s an interesting take but the film just looks poorly made.

Wait a minute, are you saying this is real? I saw this last week and I figured with the lack of effort they put into it that it was a joke.
