That’s how the unions show their power. Make the studios hurt. You take advantage of us and keep all the profits? Can’t make profits when your machine grinds to a halt.
Exactly. Every article I read about the impending UPS strike is like, “these striking workers will devastate the economy” as if it’s a bad thing. Like you said, that’s the point! If they have so...

I’m willing to be slightly inconvenienced if it means the union members get better pay/air conditioning/residuals.
Sure. The cast not doing interviews was why people weren't interested.
When it comes to a tentpole that didn’t have much press support from its cast, and ultimately died at the box office as a result of that, many see this summer’s The Flash as a prime example. A bulk of The Flash cast avoided interviews as they didn’t want to be on the hook for fielding questions about the Warner Bros DC pic’s tabloid-headlined star, Ezra Miller.

I honestly don't know anyone who actually pays attention to those cast interviews. Nobody ever says anything interesting, unless, I suppose, you're the type who also enjoys celebrity gossip. They...

They all boil down to "This was a challenging role that I was also perfect for and the movie is incredible so you should go see it!"
There's long form interviews that do deep dives on the production, or their creative process. But yeah, those types of discussions aren't happening on Jimmy Fallon.

Another big example is panels at conventions and stuff which have become a huge thing. San Diego Comic Con is in a couple days and as I understand it writers and actors won't be appearing at all since those appearances happen under contract.

It really seems like some people these days get all mad at people striking, and don't realise that disruption is the point of strikes.

Good. I look forward to the growing number of industries striking. The billionaires deserve to suffer.
