This is probably my favorite family movie that came out in the last two years. It's absolutely fantastic.

I had this one on my List since Netflix released it and I finally got around to watching it last month. Now I regret putting it off because it was so much fun! Chloƫ Grace Moretz is brilliant and brings so much energy, and Riz Ahmed plays off her energy with so much style. I love the way they end up making their characters' relationship work by just accepting one another (even if Nimona's a little insistant on doing things the evil way to start).

I randomly watched it when it was suggested a month or two ago, I agree it's absolutely fantastic. Incredibly well animated, really good story, all around fun time.

Agreed. It's both a devastatingly effective allegory and an absolutely hilarious kids movie. Fun for the whole family that we've watched and rewatched a bunch of times now.

Edit: Yeah... they intentionally cropped it. :(

p.s. Netflix LFLT for anyone who wants to be able to properly fullscreen it:

I get the same aspect ratio on youtube that I get from Netflix on the browser. I'm not sure what you are seeing or why you are seeing it, but I don't think it is the same as what I see.

YouTube has the same aspect ratio of the video portion, but it's been cropped, has black bars on every side, and so can't be fullscreened properly for me. On Netflix there are no issues when fullscreening it though. And no other Youtube video has this issue for me either

It's because they published it to YouTube with a 16:9 aspect ratio, adding black bars on the top and bottom. It means when you full-screen on a wider-than-16:9 monitor it stops at the top and bottom black bars instead of going all the way down to the video content.

Probably YouTube doesn't even let you upload wider aspect videos so they may not have had a choice in the matter. edit: That doesn't seem to be the case, Netflix made the specific choice (either deliberately or due to ignorance/incompetence) to unnecessarily add the black bars for a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Ah yeah, it looks like they artificially added black bars to the video before they uploaded it. So strange!

Hmm looks like you are on an ultra widescreen? Perhaps that's why. I'm on a 16:9 and it looks completely normal https://i.imgur.com/GFCspxs.png

Yes, but even on an ultrawide it shouldn't have black bars underneath the video inside the player in fullscreen. When I hit fullscreen on any other video, even other 16:9 ones it stretches the video properly, and there is usually just black bars on the right and left side. :/

            Edit: See Rudism's explanation.
