That being said, I predict that Shadow will reveal he's working with Robotnik at one point, then there's going to be a double-cross.
In all honesty, I am not at all interested in watching the SCU (Sonic Cinematic Universe) except for my secondhand enjoyment from listening to Nicole Byer talk about it in tangents during her podcasts.

Just fully intended for kids but I don't think they're terrible movies for kids?

I wish them the best, but gone are the days when a parent could casually afford to bring their two kids to a show like this. At least up here in Canada, you're looking at a $100 evening for one adult, two kids and the inevitable popcorn, drink and candy combos your kids will demand.
May those fractional streaming bucks roll right in.
Y'all got popcorn :/ even back in the day we never got drink and popcorn, it was always deemed overpriced. Hence the tradition of bringing pack of skittles/gummies inside our slingbags. I think we...

I think we just went without liquids and/or used their water fountains. And the adults dropped us off, they didn't pay for their own tickets. Oh gosh were we that poor?
Same here, I think a lot of people treat popcorn and candy as a necessity at the movies, but my family always got candy and drinks at dollar tree, or just skipped them entirely, which makes things...

Same here. When I was a kid the only way we were getting popcorn was when we went to the dollar cinema to see year-old movies, where the popcorn was something like $2. As an adult I bought popcorn...

As an adult I bought popcorn at the theaters because I had disposable income and little responsibility.
Now I don’t buy popcorn again simply because it’s incredibly unhealthy the way they make it. It’s greasy and over-salted.
Hah, the skittles in the undercover bag was the big secret nobody talked about! Frankly, I think we got snacks once, but you know how kids are when it comes to add ons, and I'd bet that many...

That said, it's just trash that even for tickets, a family of four is paying $100 for a bunch of add-ons nobody cares about.

Im pretty happy that Jim Carrey still shines as Robotnik.
So I guess this is, loosely, the plot of Sonic Adventure 2?

Oh, I’m not praising it. Just to be clear, I think these movies are terrible.
I can’t speak for anybody else here, obviously.
