Austin Abrams was my second favorite performance in Weapons, he was so naturally funny.
I’m still trying to figure out who Mikey Madison was supposed to play. She was offered a role here but she turned it down to do The Social Reckoning (mistake imo since this is probably gonna get better reviews) she also turned down Star Wars: Starfighter which Mia Goth ended up doing.
Test screenings have compared this to Mad Max: Fury Road.

I'm loading up on Austin Abrams stock these days. I recently rewatched Euphoria and The Americans and I thought he was really good in both of those shows. I couldn't believe it was the same guy from Weapons.
It'll be interesting to see how he does leading a horror/thriller, plus it'd be crazy if he ends up being another actor that got really famous after Euphoria.
First thought: Huh. I genuinely can't tell if this is supposed to be based on the video games or if it's just using the title. Like is it just me or does nothing about this scream "Resident Evil"?...

I mean I'm leaning towards that it's probably based off the games, but I only come to that conclusion thinking "Surely there's got to be some trademark or copyright that would prevent them from using the name if it wasn't based on the games, and surely they wouldn't be so brazen to use the name of a popular franchise, right?"

It’s an original story in the world of Resident Evil.
Ok then! I'm a bit more interested! Always down for original stories and world building.
I wish they had made that clearer in the teaser though.
