My parents aren't able to go out to the theaters very often, so they watch a lot of new releases on the Fandango app. Last week, I heard my mother shout, "Oh my god, they have The Odyssey on here!" Fortunately, she managed to spot the difference before she spent the $20 to rent it.
This movie has been in Fandango's top-10 for the last two weeks. I assume because a lot of people thought it was Christopher Nolan's epic, however, I'm not ruling out the impact of angry dorks and hardcore AI enthusiasts. I haven't seen any press from the director, though I'll admit I am not a good googler. The studio website has some real gems though. With titles like Alien Disclosure Day, Frankenstein's Bride, Immortal Combat, and New Toy Story, it seems pretty clear what they're all about.

The Asylum have been at this a long time now. Got caught once when the Dwayne Johnson vehicle San Andreas was out in cinemas. My flatmate at the time had a Kodi box set up and was excited to see 'San Andreas' on it already, not noticing the little 'Quake' part at the end of the title. Cue ourselves and his partner sitting down expecting to watch The Rock's latest masterpiece. I could immediately tell something was up from the low budget cinematography but also noticed that neither of the other two had clocked it yet. So I actually wound up enjoying the hell out of the first 30ish mins of the movie as confusion and eventual realisation dawned on my flatmates.
The mockbusters may be pretty cheap switcheroos but some of their originals, such as the Sharknado series, are genuinely fun romps, perfect with friends after a few (too many) beers.
Is this movie AI or is this a joke about Musk-rats?

As a fan of exploitation and b-movies, I’ve tried watching Asylum films. I can’t do it. They’re always so boring. Not relevant, but one time my high school did a haunted house and it was themed as...

Not relevant, but one time my high school did a haunted house and it was themed as a psychiatric asylum. And they made posters with the Asylum’s logo on it lol.
Me : "wow this looks like AI slop, who made this?" Asylum me : "ah, carry on then" It's trashy fun, but they at least know that they're trash and don't try to pretend otherwise.

I'm kinda disappointed they're using AI effects, but I understand that "low budget effect, but not llm generated" would be a weird bar to aim for as opposed to just going for a minimum viable product.

I came here for a Canadian kids show from the 90s and left disappointed.
