Every time a Marvel movie comes out, I almost feel like I'm holding my breath. The franchise has become this decade's Star Wars, and whatever decisions they make—good or bad—are going to be remembered for a long time. One of the best things they've done is consistently release good, audience-appealing movies.
And one of the worst things across the franchise is the musical consistency.
It's the same problem that Harry Potter had. These are characters with very different personalities, different themes, varied combat. And the music is a mess. Percussive ostinatos, lack of recognizable themes... besides the main Avengers theme, can you think of any music melody that persists over multiple movies? In the same way, the only Harry Potter themes that stuck around through the 8 movies are Hedwig's theme and the friendship theme. It's a pity composers don't realize that a good melody can have the audience humming the tune long after they leave the theatre.
It's almost like Marvel is inverted compared to Star Wars. Those old movies stick around because of the music. Imagine watching A New Hope with 80s-era pop music or bland background strings instead of the melodies that everyone knows. The story for Episode IV is surprisingly thin, out of context and without the knowledge of what comes later. And then Marvel inverts all that; the movies are incredibly appealing and constantly more complex while the music hides in the background.
Can anyone else not see the comments there? It says there's nearly 90,000 comments but they aren't showing up for me. The comment box is there and I can enter a comment, but I can't see anyone...

I figured it must be something like that. 90,000 comments and half a million (when I saw first saw it, nearly a million now) viewings a couple hours after being posted.

I'm so damn hyped, this may be generic but these last few years Marvel really has continuously taken themselves to new heights and wowed me, though I've always been a Marvel fan. Looks like they've got some really great stuff coming out soon. I wonder if there has been any talk inside of Marvel of multiple cinematic universes? It only makes sense, as in the Marvel canon there are (correct me if I'm wrong) infinite universes. It would be interesting to see, and another first from Marvel.

Agreed. I think I'm just going to try to avoid any more trailers.

Guardians of the Galaxy has a wonderful theme that's nicely expanded in the sequel.
The much anticipated trailer for the next Avengers movie.

I see it too. If comments were disabled, there would be a notification, so it must be that they are coming in too fast.
