I love Andy Serkis' work so I might check it out simply to support him, but at the same time I'm really not interested in seeing another Jungle Book movie. I'm gonna have to wait for reviews.

My favorite live action adaptation of the jungle book is the one by Zoltan Korda in 1942. It's probably just my nostalgia showing, but it has a soft place in my heart. The whole film is in the public domain now and you can watch it on the wikipedia page.

Maybe Serkis directing it explains why our Mowgli origin story seems basically the same as Gollum's.
