It's impressive that they're willing to stand by their convictions, they're good people.
Ohio issue 1 (a redistricting amendment to fight gerrymandering) currently uses language describing exactly the opposite of what it does.
So a citizen group got a ban on gerrymandering on the ballot, but politicians doctored the language of the ballot initiative to make it sound bad, so that people will vote no and they will be able to keep gerrymandering. Do I understand this correctly? Le sigh.
I believe you do, yes. Earlier today I drove past an "End gerrymandering! NO on 1!" sign, which is the exact opposite of what a NO on 1 would do. YES on 1 would fight gerrymandering. It's driving me insane trying to keep it straight.
This reminds me of how Prop 8 in CA was worded and same with 22 in the last election cycle about classifying gig workers as employees with employee protections instead of as contractors. Of course those who have the most money and lobbying power were the ones who got their way.
Okay, I'm sorry, but I just have to point out that Tim Walz just said that he changed his mind on guns after becoming friends with school shooters. He obviously misspoke, but I just could not stop laughing after that.
I'm really impressed by the two women who are running the debate. Muting mikes, pushing back on non-answers... this is how it should be done.
Except for the one time Vance just refused to stop talking and they just let him win.
Yeah he does that. I'm not watching tonight but it's not surprising that he misspoke.
Sometimes it feels like JD Vance is so preposterously bad as a running mate that he must be a deep undercover person trying to make Trump lose.
Walz was good enough at this debate, but it's more that Vance takes the opportunity almost every time he opens his mouth to say the worst thing for himself. Not just that he says things that are bad and awful - Trump does that too - but that he says things that are awful but also actively detrimental to what he is trying to achieve. He's either a buffoon or a genius, depending on whether he wants Republicans in office.

After I click: SIGH Why. Idk fine I guess. It's speech/art. I guess. Fine.
The last picture actually looks more like Dave Thomas to me than Trump.
