Something actually tangible they might do to improve things in both America and Canada. As a Canadian, hurrah! But, even Americans should be excited about being able to reverse some of this...

I hope the Democrats understand they're under a microscope right now and need to do as much as they can.

Right? No complying in advance. It doesn't matter if Trump can veto it. Do it. Make him get carpal tunnel from signing all those vetos. Make the Republicans in the House and Senate go on the record every week with their votes to show that they want to give tax cuts to the rich, support Trump and his war, and kick the lower classes in the teeth. Make it so clear to everyone who wants things to get better and who just wants to rule.

Bannon famously coined the phrase "flood the zone with shit." I've started saying we need to flood the zone with sunshine and rainbows.

They have a bit of a grace period. 90% of the blame/credit for what happens in the next two years will go to the president. While I agree they should introduce substantive legislation (even if it will be vetoed), there’s value in focusing on crafting legislation (ideally, to the point of ready to introduce and hopefully pass without drawn-out debate) that can be passed early in 2029, enabling implementation and people feeling its effects by summer 2030. That was a major issue with Obama’s first term, the signature legislation (the ACA) wasn’t taking affect far enough ahead of the midterms so that people could actually feel it’s affects, and they could still project their fears and uncertainties onto it.
